So when you complain about technique DUE to coaching…. It’s on him. If you’re complaining and moaning about freshmen dbs getting burned cause they were on an island against arguably the best QB in the acc- then it’s coach Wes’ call to run bear and eagle formations. It’s no one’s fault- we did not “fit” well. If anything if the plan was to get pressure at the line the DL failed to hold up their end of deal and get to Hartman like last year.
When you go against what has made us successful against this wake offense the last few years, and decide not to attack the mesh, you deserve a lot of criticism. Esp when you’ve been touted as a genius. I get playing zone should help your struggling backs, but you know what helps them more? Putting pressure on the QB. He looked like a true freshman play caller yesterday.
Ya know, I'm kinda tired of that too. Just because Dabo is qualified doesn't mean every single decision he's ever made is perfect. Our defense is not as good as it has been in years past, and that's specifically because Wes isn't as aggressive. Dabo is like the second highest paid head coach and we are making excuses for him taking 4 and 5 star talent and needing 2 OTs to beat Wake Forest with 3 and 4 star talent. I'm a Dabo fan, but this idea that he's untouchable and zero criticism is ever warranted is insane. Go watch Tennessee and tell me you don't miss Clemsons old offense. Super fast paced, attacking all over the field, WRs making plays, it's explosive. When Beau is your best WR, as good as he is, you aren't what you used to be. Beau wouldn't have started on a lot of our Clemson offenses in the past, and he's the best we have. Offensive line, despite better recruiting, also is sucking. Sure, they looked a little better each week. We aren't playing anyone. Imagine playing an actually good defensive front. If you wanna say well you shouldn't expect to manhandle Bama or Georgia on the line, yes, yes I do. That's the expectation. Celebrating beating Wake forest in 2 OTs when literally every single play a DB got beat, I will not do. I can't stand Saban but Saban wouldn't have called this win character building and really proud of our guys.....sure you won and that's great. We've got MAJOR issues. They won't be fixed overnight either.
No, you said it's a real shame we don't have a qualified head coach that makes these decisions, as if any criticism shouldn't be brought up. I just pointed out that no man I perfect and my criticisms are 100% valid. 5th game or not, 48 points or whatever it was is unacceptable. DBs getting best every play is unacceptable. With our players a HS coach could call plays. He's not aggressive enough. Look forward to revisiting this later when you're forced to realize it.

Have some nuance dude. It's not, name two better programs or no criticism. That's not the choice.
Tom Brady makes mistakes. That doesn't mean he isn't the GOAT.
Tigernet is nothing but using extremes to justify positions. There's no true evaluation of anything on here. It's why I rarely comment. Just read for entertainment.
Two things can be true at the same time. We won, I'm happy, and our defensive performance is a concern. If you don't think that's the case, you're willfully ignoring reality for hope.
There's people last year that would ignore DJ and the offensive play, and pretend because we only lost to Georgia by 7 or whatever we were fine. Well we were until we weren't. Some people have the ability to speak with nuance to notice trends, some don't because they'd rather pretend everything is hunky dory
I agree with you on Dabo, he's never above criticism, the man isn't perfect. Having said that, he knows what he's doing way more than any of us do.
With Goodwin, he's learning and will get it figured out. Sometimes players make plays, sometimes they don't. At times, it's that simple.
UTs offense is less about personnel and more about mentality and scheme. Their entire team is geared around that offense, their defense is not very good and doubt it ever will be under Heupel... Just my opinion.
Beaux Collins isn't chopped liver
Lastly, our fanbase and myself included have become incredibly entitled and spoiled as a result of our run for the past decade plus. What did us in more was the downfall of the ACC recently coupled with our elite teams with TL... Every game was a dang joke in this conference.
At the end of the day, we are just fans and should be able to enjoy what we get to watch week in and week out. We are 4-0, ranked top 5 in the country with a prime time matchup this week's and college gameday in town.
What else could you ask for as a college football fan?
Agreed. Hartman did get hot. Our front 4 as a whole lost their battle yesterday.
I was equally disappointed obviously with the play of the secondary (but we were play true freshman at corners), and the offensive line. The run blocking is terrible. Another year and another year of no push.
While we should not expect to run the ball like we did in the Ford years, we have to get a little more consistent push. I have no faith in this line to get us a yard in the run game. The backs may make it happen, but don’t expect any push.
Some of the “No Push from the Oline is scheme” hard to get much push on an RPO Play or you will get an ineligible man downfield. On plays where it looks like we get push or good holes opened we are in a straight running play. There is definitely room for improvement but I noticed the same thing from Bama’s Oline when I watched them against TX.
And hold on now, there is also a Co-DC that coaches DBs (Safeties), Mickey Conn. Where was he at making the decision to go to Cover 2 and Tampa 2 to help the Corners? It's a team effort especially with the coaches.
I can think of a lot more coaches who should be on the “hot seat” on this Clemson staff - most of which know they will never be let go regardless of how ineffective they may be. At least Reed’s players get better while they are at Clemson; I can’t say the same for most other positions. Outside of a select few, the position coaches and coordinators are, at best, average.
