Don't be crying in your milk...

Apr 12, 2021, 5:58 PM

...because a few guys transferred out of Clemson. There are well over 1,000 NCAA men's basketball players currently in the "Transfer Portal". This is the new state of NCAA Athletics. Just about every team has lost players to transfer. It's not necessarily a "program" problem. It's young men (and women) looking for something else. It could be a family issue; a financial issue; a playing time issue; an idea that the new team will vault them to the NBA issue...who knows, but it is now their option to pursue these transfers. So, don't blame Coach Brownell, the program, the arena the University nor the fans. It's simply a new option that these players have been fighting for, for the past several years. Duke has lost players, UNC has lost players, Syracuse has lost players...find me a program that has not. Get used to it folks!

if you don't think getting good bball players from the portal is a likely hood strategy, look at UGA. They have brought in four good transfers including two today - The guard from Virginia and the sharp shooter forward from Southern Cal.
And Georgia's program has been a lot worse than ours lately.

Also, Auburn just got Walker Kessler from UNC. The SEC is loading up with some really good bball transfers. some of the schools have had worse bkball programs than us the last four or five years.

If they have a worse history than us then why are they getting these guys and we aren’t ? Could it be the coach? Just asking .

Baylor got transfers too. They got freshman transfers that stayed with the program. At some point you have to build continuity.
