GITT with your earliest memory of life.

Feb 6, 2019, 12:21 PM

Mine was in the bathroom of the first house I ever lived in. I couldn't have been older than 4. Mom was giving me a bath. I put my finger in my ######## when she wasn't looking and then said "mamma, smell this"...and she was stupid enough to smell my poopy finger. She fussed at me.

we moved from 1st house right around when I was 4

Feb 6, 2019, 1:19 PM

and I remember a bunch from that house, but no idea WHEN in that 4-ish years it was. obviously, odds are it's from the tail end of that.

speaking of tail end, I DO remember potty training, standing to pee, and instead taking a dump on the floor behind me.

I also remember 2 occasions of very vivid dreams, of seeing 'ghosts' (not really, but maybe really, because...). I went and got my parents, freaked out, and they brought me back to my room, 'showed' me that everything was fine, and got me back in bed. Meanwhile, I'm still seeing these 'ghosts'.

I remember kicking over a glass of soda out on the back patio.

Our lesbian neighbors had a weird hot-tub that I remember being in.

Had a neighbor kid named Charlie, he was a couple years older, but not by much...

I remember having a garage sale, and being sad that my parents were getting rid of some more baby-ish toys

Also, I can draw the floorplan of that house just from pre-4 year old memories.

that said, I don't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

behind the first house we lived in. Must have been 4.

Big event that I remember was getting out of school early when JFK was assasinated in 1st grade. I don’t ever remember school being let out early after that.

I remember these people standing over me while I was in bed

Feb 6, 2019, 2:33 PM

Their faces were familiar but I didn't really know who they were. They were speaking to me and I was trying to talk back but I couldn't, it's like I didn't know how, or my tongue just hadn't learned yet.

I remember they kept saying, "Daddy, daddy, get out of bed." And then a woman came in and shook the life out of me and said it was almost 9:30. They said they were my family or some ####.

I gotta quit drinking so much.

my grandfather died when I was 3 1/2

Feb 6, 2019, 4:17 PM

I was in the room. I was kept by Grandma while my mom and dad were at work. Grand Dad came home from work, laid down and had a heart attack and died. I clearly remember the whole thing.

I also remember his wake. It was at my house, the casket was in our living room (that's what people used to do that didn't have a funeral home in the area). I can still clearly visualize that scene.

Don't ever have a wake in your home. It's hard to forget.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

AMEN, you don’t forget that. ******
