Needs to leave and not sure he would be a first round pick. I know I will get blasted here but he is like a Peter Warrick type. I Belive he needs to work on quickness and agility. He does not seem to gain much ground on his first move after the catch. I was at Clemson when Woody was here and he was move of a 4.6 as well. The other part of this argument is can Nuke get much faster in this stage of his career and I am not sure, so leaving might be ok. The good thing is with the new NFL CBA there is really no chance to gain/lose money do to lock in amounts for draft picks. His only risk is injury which is significant. I predict if he leaves he will be at best 2nd round but I also don't know if he could improve that next year. Dilemma

If Nuk returns and has a repeat season or an even better season than this year then there is no way he wouldn't be a first round draft pick!

You are probably right I just know for a fact that there

Jan 6, 2013, 9:30 PM

Are a lot of teams in the League that will not under any circumstance draft a WR that does not run a certain 40. When I was coaching I spoke more scouts over an 8 year period that I could every count. One example (I know it's the Radiers) is when Rod G was coming out Mickey Marvin Scout of the Raiders said I love him but I could never reccomend him to the team because of his 40. I have spoken with one agent who actually told me it would probably be in his best intrest to not come out. Trust me Nuke is one of my all time favorites along Kirkland, Dawkins, Keith Adams, Chris Johnson, Ashley Sheppard, among others but he is kind of an enigma when it comes to the league.

You do know with both of these young men back.....

Jan 6, 2013, 9:04 PM

Clemson has an excellent shot at competing for a national title next year right?

Last time I checked it took more than a QB and a WR to win a National Title, especially when you still can't beat your instate rival which probably has similiar thoughts with the squad they have returning.
And no I am not a coot.Just stating the obvisious.

Obvisious isn't really that obvious haha***

Re: No need in him getting lattimored

Jan 6, 2013, 10:49 PM [ in reply to No need in him getting lattimored ]

I think both Boyd & Hopkins could learn a lot from Lattimore's injuries this year. (especially how much Boyd ran the ball) On the other side of the argument, both players would leave Clemson never having won against South Carolina and never having the opportunity to win a national championship in college.

Not many people ever get the opportunity to win a national championship, (especially in college football) and Boyd/Hopkins would be the stars of the offense. Having said that, I hope they both approach the decision making process with a focus on what is best for their own individual interests.

I'm not sure I would be able to leave college with that much left to accomplish. Not having won against South Carolina and potentially being one of the teams that is expected to compete for a national championship (if they return) is a lot to play for IMO.

It's a tough decision for both, but I think those two reasons would be enough to make me come back. I'm not sure how close they each are to graduating, but I would also want to graduate. Life is about choices, I hope they choose wisely...

Tajh and Nuke will be better off if they don't read what you ,and others think is best for them.
I'm certain that they have enough advice from NFL scouts, and more importantly the coaches and family.

You can't be serious.... Wish them the best if they go but ... We need them both.. Nuk(e) probably couldn't have a better year so our chances of keeping him are slim. TB on the other hand will come in- in the mix for the Heisman, it's critical for him to stay.
