I have to agree with Saban. A&M bought the # 1 recruiting class.

Last year. This was my fear about NIL. Unless rules are changed by the NCAA and NIL is managed much better it will difficult for us to stay in the elite class.
They should put Jimbo and Saban in a boxing ring and let them slug them it out.

a direct by-product of a lack of leadership by the NCAA, and is disreputable at best, despicable at worst.
It sets an extremely poor example for our student-athletes, giving them all the excuses they need to enter the fray further adding to the whole sordid mess with the NIL and Transfer Portal. It is precisely what I expected when those two evil Genies were released from their bottles, and why I have opposed both all along.
Thank God Dabo took the high road without name-calling, and to hellll with the sportscasters who condemned our Coach while giving others free passes.

True, this whole NIL thing is causing chaos, but Saban made a mistake attacking Jimbo. That was unreal. Hopefully, they will both be hurt badly. Dabo saw all this coming.

While I don't agree with his approach, Saban understands full well that neither Clemson nor Alabama can compete with the oil money of Texas and Oklahoma in the long run. Yet even the NFL has sense enough to utilize "salary caps" to even the playing field. The NCAA is going to have to do something similar or recruiting will become nothing more than a bidding war. I don't have a solution but I'm not getting paid to either. The folks in charge need to do something, and quickly, or college athletics as we have known them for the past 100+ years will be a thing of the past. Go Tigers!

technically yes, but he did so legitimately. If Alabama’s boosters want to get into a bidding war with old oil tycoon money then they can. But don’t cry to the press if they don’t. Until there’s some sorta reigns on this NIL thing there’s not much that can be said

A&M boosters almost surely did.. but won't ever be directly tied to TA&M or the coaches.
IT's a technicality but is likely the one A&M and Jimbo are using.
Same technicality they use when saying kids DON"T get paid to play sports. The receive money for name, likeness, image.. and NOT because they play sports.
BOth are technicalities but in the end it is the same. These kids are choosing the school based on the money they get and they ONLy get that money because they play sports.
