Clemson vs Louisville

Oct 12, 2014, 8:08 PM

I've been following Tiger football since the late 1950's. This game was one of the grittiest, toughest defensive struggles I have seen since the 1980's. Both teams were incredible in their gutsy performances on the line and the strong coverage in the defensive backfields. It was a beautiful football game--one of the best I have seen in a long time. That defensive stand at the end will be remembered for a long time. Proud to be a Clemson man!

Wasn't even a field goal, 10-8. We were #2, UNC #9. A win is a win, can't figure out these mealy mouth whiners that keep moaning like coots. May not have been purdy, but what a gutsy performance.

With all his success, his highest salary was $25,000 a year. The president of the university, Dr. R. F. Poole, feared that professors who earned less would be upset. "He called me up and said that he didn't want me to tell anybody what I made," Howard once said. "I said: 'Doc, you don't have to worry. I'm as ashamed as you are of what you pay me.'
