That's right! I forget Clemson doesn't have Checkers, Cross-stitch, Find-a-Word, etc.

In the past the Palmetto Series has counted a golf tournament where both teams participated but not sure if that is still the case.

We don't have a carp fishing team so that eliminates that "sport".

You have a sport that is literally paddling a revised version of a canoe.

IMO football > basketball > soccer = baseball = softball = track > tennis = golf > equestrian = bass fishing = knitting. Our dominance can’t be properly measured without weighting for “importance”. IMO again, football is importanter than golf.

"For a sport to count toward Palmetto Series points, both the Gamecocks and Tigers must either play head-to-head or in the same tournament or meet. One point will be awarded for each of the following sports:
Baseball Basketball (men’s and women’s) Cross Country (women’s) Football Golf (men’s and women’s) Soccer (men’s and women’s) Softball Tennis (men’s and women’s) Volleyball
To determine which school is awarded the Palmetto Series trophy, the winning school in each sport earns one point – one point for a volleyball win, one point for a soccer win, one point for a basketball win, etc. However, multiple match-ups may take place, which could include the post-season. In addition, each school can also earn half a point. For example, if the Gamecocks win two out of three Carolina vs. Clemson baseball games, but Clemson wins two out of three in post-season play, both teams get a half a point. One point can also be earned for each of the following:
By winning the annual food drive By having the higher average of the fall and spring student athlete GPAs"

So we beat the crap out of Gamecock teams in most sports on the field. Their stadium sucks. Their coaching staffs in the bigger sports suck. The Gamecocks have been in the SEC for 30 years.
For 30 years those folks have talked about SEC speed, cycling in and said a million words about SEC money. All those much ballyhooed league advantages have not helped the Gamecocks at all. I don't think it ever will.
And yet there is always a subset of Clemson fans who want Clemson to be in the SEC. They talk about inevitable decline for Clemson unless we follow in SC's footsteps. I don't get it.
The SEC power teams have always had more money and more fans. When I look back over the past 45 years, I like who we have been and what we have achieved. We have a great stadium, a solid and supportive fan base, we have been very successful at the highest levels of the support. With luck our coach our Hall of Fame Coach will give us at least 15 and perhaps 20 more years.
The yearning others so often express wishing and hoping we'd be somehow different from who we are surprises and irritates me. Of course those folks are amusing. Most of them are more than willing to tell me and you and everyone else what is going to happen in the future, as if they or anyone else has a clue.
Go Tigers!!

If Clemson moved to SEC. By 4 years that would outdo what USC has done for their 34 years. Their time now plus the 4 years together with Clemson. Their women's basketball probably class of SEC now but that has been just few years. It so much those fans want Clemson in SEC but we feel Clemson FB belongs there. Danny Ford's Tigers belonged their just ask the UGA teams that played them.
