Clemson in the Big or SEC would likely

increase average for Clemson games to over 4 million viewers. Number of games over 4 million would likely double from 3 to 6. How can South Carolina have such low viewership while playing in the SEC? And only one game of over 4 million viewers. We could have had 4 last year had FSU been doing better at the time. Hopefully these numbers will play a part in getting into the Big or SEC, preferably the Big.

Personally I’d rather stay with our roots and Championships in the Southern Conference & Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

We have championships while being in the conference with many of the SEC teams. Our history in the south is very rich.

Riggs hired John Heisman to coach Clemson. Heisman stayed only four years at Clemson, where he compiled a record of 19–3–2, an .833 percentage, the best in Clemson football history.[12] In four seasons, he had two SIAA titles.[13] In his first season of 1900, he coached the Tigers to their first undefeated season (6–0),[3] and first conference championship, outscoring their opponents 222–10 – the 64–0 win over Davidson on opening day was then the largest score ever made in the South.[14] The season had various other "firsts", including the school's first defeat of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The only close game was with the South Atlantic school VPI. The 1902 team again won the SIAA. This was the first season with both Hope Sadler and Carl Sitton at ends. One writer recalls, "Sitton and Hope Sadler were the finest ends that Clemson ever had perhaps.

Our history with the southeast traditionally is what makes Clemson so unique in my opinion.

So our game with the Noles didn't make the list...but our games with NCSU, Ga Tech, and Syracuse did? I would question 'The Athletic' on that.

Syracuse pulls in good numbers from NY when their record is decent.(Even though usually its from playing a weak early non con schedule)

Now we see why FSU wanted them as one of their three permanent rivals every year to help boost their numbers.

So you would get excited playing a bunch of Yankees? I wouldn't think the Clemson fanbase would want to be part of a liberal conference. I guess I am mistaken and anything changes these days.
