Clemson Tiger and pulling for other teams...

Those saying if you are pulling for the Gamecocks aren't Tigers.....
I was raised in SC; I love the state of SC. I think it has the best people. I am a Clemson Tiger, I do not presently have a "piece of paper" saying I "am", but I know I am more of a Clemson Tiger than many, MANY people with a "paper/ring". Like probably most on here, I have family that are Gamecock fans/alumni....I am happy for them...and the state of SC. If you cannot be happy for "family", then 1)you probably aren't from the South in the first place..... 2)might not follow the "Word"....
I have the Clemson Tigers in my blood....but can certainly be happy for my friends and family that are lifelong coots....(I mean, they haven't had much to cheer for in the past.... football is primary and the Good Lord knows they are nowhere close in football ;)

I'm glad that I am a native of the palmetto state and even more glad I was not reared to hate everything and everybody who are different from me.

It's okay to pul for them if you wish. Likewise, it's okay that I don't. You are very accurate in saying they don't have much to crow about that matters.

Absolutely; I am by no means saying folks must pull for them....just despise seeing "you are not a Tiger if pulling for anything gamecock".....that's all.

grew up in SC and went to Clemson doesn't have great great friends - even absolute best, lifelong friends - who went to Carolina (or are fans). If you aren't just a little happy for them and their school then you've got some big problems. Maybe it makes it a little easier to be a little more happy for them since Clemson just won in football, but all in all good for their fans. And they are still a dream and a prayer from actually winning the whole thing...

The only real angst it gives me is that Clemson decided that we're on the right track for basketball and stuck with the status quo. That's now looking like a bold bold move 7 years in when we look right down the road at our rivals and see what a coach can do.
