Clemson: Strength and weakeness of the Defense

Dec 31, 2015, 11:53 AM

Clemson has allowed opposing QBs to only complete 46% of their passes thru 13 games good for 4th nationally and 2170 yrds of passing with 9 touchdowns.
Oklahoma strength is in their passing game but its also the strength of our defense.
Interestingly, opponents have scored 83% of times when the have visited the red zone with of majority of the points coming by way of the run.
The game plan for the Tigers would be to load up on the run and force Mayfield to pass. Getting pressure with the front four will be the key to winning this game.
Mayfield is completing just above 53% perccent of his passes against adequate defenses and has a perchant for scrambling early when its not necessary after his first two options are covered.
Even tho the media and most sports casters have been saying that these past few games Clemson defense has been showing critical holes in the defense, the stats would say otherwise. CU 45 Ok17
