Clemson SEC? not yet

Well a lot of you on here has been pushing the subject of Clemson joining another conference. Well first don't you think we should start winning our conference on the regular and prove we are better than the ACC. My god we won a ACC championship last year our last one was 20 years ago! We can hardly win the Conference championship in one of the worst conferences in America, what makes you think we can pull of a SEC or a B12? Beats me.. SEC does not want a team that get murdered by the big east champion. Im a die hard Clemson fan as the next guy but its the truth, and it hurts.

Carolina went 1-21 after they joined the SEC.... before that they were a sure bet to fo 4-7, 5-6, 6-5 or, in a good year 7-4

You are TOTALLY missing the point.It's not whether we stay in the ACC.Rather it's a question if the ACC can remain a viable "football conference" if schools like FSU leave for the Big 12,or N.C.State goes to the SEC.
Expansion is about positioning your conference to be a major player in the new 4 team National Championship format that is being proposed.
Secondly,schools like Clemson(or even the forementioned FSU/N.C.State) are "NOT" going anywhere unless they are asked to join.Clemsom can be proactive in discussions with either the SEC,or the Big 12,but unless asked to join they are stuck.
Third point is television markets.The SEC is thinking in terms of not only expanding but going into areas where they have no television markets.They do not have exposure in N.C. so State would be a good team to go after.Virginia would be a good choice if the SEC decides to seek markets in Virginia.
The SEC allready has a tv market in S.C. with the Gamecocks.They don't need us.
The Big 12, however could seek out both Clemson and FSU to gain a foothold in tv markets in Florida and S.C.However they seem to be content ,for now with the 10 teams they have.
So for right now Clemson is in the ACC,regardless of how we did against the Big East Champion.

is that it is fun having the teams in 2 different conferences. And it would be even more fun having clemson in the Big 12 with Texas and Oklahoma. The debates would be entertaining and interesting. Also, those of us in this part of the country would get to experience knowing more about the Longhorns and Sooners. Who knows, if Carolina has a bye week while clemson is playing Texas or Oklahoma at home, many of us would love to get tickets to that game.

You see the same thing in columbia with tigers wearing their gear. Over the years i have attended several clemson games with friends on carolina bye weeks. I just dress normal though.
