based largely on the fact that since the NCAA started using NET rankings for tournament team selection, no team with more than one Quad 4 loss has been selected and, of course, Clemson has three Quad 4 losses.
At this point, I think the only path for Clemson to make in into the NCAAT field is to win the ACC Tournament. Of course, Clemson has never won the conference tournament and has only played in the championship game twice (1962 and 2008) in the tournament's 68 year history.

I actually hope we do NOT salvage this season, because it would mean we are probably stuck with Brown-L again.
Why did the University keep beating its head against the basketball wall? Because it felt so good when they finally stopped.

Agree with you 76er. It's a lot like last year with the baseball team. Had we made a regional, done relatively well, and then lose in a super, we'd been stuck with Monte.

I hope we do salvage this season winning all of the rest of the regular season games, win the ACCT, go to NCAAT and win some games there.
Even if it means being stuck with CBB.
If the season ends up grounded in reality, there will be some small solace if CBB is let go.
It's a difference in perspective, but I cannot ever "hope Clemson loses".

That would mean the following…..
A) We win the last 4 regular season games, with 2 quad 1 road wins, secure the ‘double bye’ and then get a quality ACCT quarterfinal win against Duke or NC State.
B) We win 3 out of 4 to close out regular season…splitting the road games…then make a run to ACCT final.
C) We split the regular season games and then win the ACC tournament.
I think any of the above gets us in…might be very close…but a quad 1 road win or 2 would certainly make a big impact.
A 5 win scenario that might not do it would involve not clinching the double bye and having to play a 12 seed on day 2 of ACC tourney….while that could give an ‘extra’ win, it would not be enough in the grand scheme.

The "preseason" is almost over.
All these games to this point have just been for practice.
If Clemson wins all their games after March 7 they will win the first national championship in basketball.

It maybe keeps us in the conversation but a lot depends on what others on the bubble do. Our bad losses are going to really come back to haunt us.

Winning out the remaining 5 RS games puts Clemson on right side of the bubble, but given the past couple weeks & how bad this team does away from home, don't see the wins at NCSt & UVA happening. Honestly, don't like our chances w/ Syracuse even w/ it being a home game.
Even w/ 5-0 or 4-1 RS finish, think the team would need 1 or 2 wins at ACCT at least for the Q1 wins & to perhaps give the committee something good to look at to lessen the season-long impact of the poor road/neutral results.
3-2 or worst, it's ACCT title or bust. 1 & done in ACCT in any case outside the 5-0 RS finish & its the final nail in the coffin.

Must beat Syracuse, Notre Dame, split with NC State and Virginia and win at least 2 in the ACC tourney to even have a remote shot. Sorry, not seeing it.
