very rare exception to the rule. Never again will a walk-on impact the team to the level of HR, regardless of position. It's foolish to think otherwise, the chances are in the odds neighborhood of winning SC state lottery. But whatever, keep thinking the next HR is just around the corner and stacking up walk-ons to continually occupy 10% of our scholarship allotment is a wise practice, keep waiting on that return on investment.

Jeff Scott was a walk on at Clemson. (I know we hate coaches kids being allowed on the team!)
It could be argued that if he were not accepted as a walk on that he never would have gotten a job coaching at Clemson either.
It's also hard to argue that his impact on Clemson as a player and coach combined was smaller than that of Hunter Renfrow.
I guess there were 2 guys that Clemson allowed to walk on to the team that had a pretty huge impact to the program.
Your argument that it will never happen again seems flimsy.
Maybe it won't, but it's already happened twice in a pretty short time.
I'm sure the historians could go back and find many more highly impactful walk on players.

What exactly is the point of complaining about a walk-on? It's not like he's taking up one of our 85 spots or anything. It's like complaining about someone giving you a free lottery ticket because your chances of winning are so small.
