Clemson fan til the end, can call coot all you want but the fact remains..

Apr 5, 2015, 12:27 AM

Bunch of grown men trash talking some kids who gave it all. Just Bc i don't agree with ppl dogging out kids on message boards, doesn't mean I'm not a Clemson fan..

...with you all he way, man. Please see an earlier reply to a post, re: (something about "...love loving haters....") I, for one, still believe you can love Clemson University and all it stands for, as I do, even its sports programs, and still have a conscience and a brain.

I find it ironic that Clemson is an engineering school, yet the T-net pulse system is the worst message board rating system I've ever seen (starting at 100% and daring the Tnet proletariat to TD other users). I take pride in my low pulse. In fact, I purposely requested people to give me TD's. I can't however take any pride in a message board rating system that is also based on house donations. I also have gotten many TD's by pointing out that a very large fraction of the T-net base is made up of non-alums, so it's no surprise when I got many TD's by bringing up this sensitive, but relevant issue.

Apr 5, 2015, 7:37 AM [ in reply to Re: Clemson fan til the end, can call coot all you want but the fact remains.. ]

are thankful for the thousands of good folks who support Clemson, even though they aren't grads.

In fact there are legions of non-alumni who have earned the right to express opinions about our programs due to their years of support, and I consider most on TigerNet to be as much my Tiger Brethren as those who are grads.

The problem some folks have on this site is more the manner of the message than the message itself. I strongly support the open forum concept, rarely calling others out nor appending labels; however, sometimes some posters will take an adversarial approach rather than accepting the fact that others are entitled to their opinions. It's also good to take a deep breath and reread a post prior to hitting the post message button, for oft times we publish that which we later may rue.

Lastly, I've posted previously (as have many others) that those who take comments too seriously are usually doomed to unnecessary controversy and bitterness. That's why I prefer a more laid-back, lighthearted and friendly manner of participation...even though I usually have to put up with some of my "friends" cracking jokes about my...ahem, longevity! lol

The hatred is based on a few things.

Most Kentucky players are there to go to the NBA , one and done.

Calipari has a history of recruiting violations.

Everyone is tired of the SEC mentality that TV seems to have.

Defending kids off of a team that just had their first loss, against a bunch of grown men who sit righteously behind a keyboard and say how they should have acted. Very easy for them to say cause never in a million years will they be in any similar situation.

I can respect news anchors and analysts who put their face and real name on tv when talking about an issue, but never someone that hides behind a computer on message boards and trashing kids. Pathetic

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Some of the posters you're trashing are also kids.

Apr 5, 2015, 11:39 AM

Care to post your real name?

Or could it be you're more upset that UK lost than anything posted on an irrelevant message board?

Since its about defending kids and not a case of selective outrage, you should have no issue with giving us your screen name on fgf.

I'm certain we will see you defending kids against your own fan base right?

Nah, I'm pretty sure you're just outraged at CLEMSON fans but overlook your fan base doing the same.

Here comes the excuses as to why he won't tell us who he is on fgf....and proves my point ;)

Apr 5, 2015, 9:20 PM [ in reply to Re: Clemson fan til the end, can call coot all you want but the fact remains.. ]

means that losing without class isn't status quo.

Believe it or not, message boards is where you'll find brutal honesty. Unlike those TV personalities who have to 'save face' for viewership and the PC crowd, many posters do not have much to lose with the amount of anonymity granted on a public forum such as this. Unfortunately, this works both ways. Those that open their mouths when they should remain shut are also granted that same anonymity and their idiocy and over inflated egos remain attached to a screen name, and not the individual himself.

You seem to randomly pick unusual things to defend, usually those that are against popular opinion. Sometimes I wonder if you truly believe what you post, or you do it for shock factor....or maybe even to just troll. You are a very unusual poster....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Can't fight that fight. The trolls will always troll.

Apr 5, 2015, 11:20 AM

Yes you'll be called a coot and TDed often if you express opinions or thoughts these people don't agree with. It's come with being in TNet.
