And as he goes into his final sunset may he be comforted knowing it's an orange sunset, because God is a Clemson fan.

His dove pirleau event held every last Friday in April was legendary. Over 2500 doves cooked with rice and salt pork in 5 giant cast iron pots tended to by mostly Kingstree cooks.
Usually attended by about 5-600 men only from all walks of life with all the beer and liquor you could safely consume.

I knew Edsel Hemingway a long time ago when I was growing up. He was a true gentleman and a great Tiger supporter.

He loved to hunt and probably killed a lot of those doves himself.

And one from Trio I believe.
After the supper of pirleau, white limas and slaw things moved into a large outbuilding where the dice came out and craps were on! Both Williamsburg and Georgetown counties sheriffs and their deputies were in attendance and nobody got into trouble. What a special family and event. Was sorry to see it end about 15 years ago.
