Clemson draft prospects for 2024

Today’s Greenville (SC) News has an article about our draft prospects for 2024. You probably can’t access it without a subscription so I will list the players and then make a comment. The players are Jeremiah Trotter, Barrett Carter, XT, Tyler Davis, Ruke, Andrew Mukuba, Nate Wiggins, Sheridan Jones, Will Shipley, and Will Putnam. Of the 10, 8 are defensive players which bodes well for our defense next year. But only 2 are offensive players and only one of the offensive players is a skill position. To compete in the modern college football era you must have offensive players capable of scoring 40++ points in championship games. You will note we had no WR’s on the list. Unless that position is shored up we will not be competitive in post season play. I know this article is just one writer’s opinion but the lack of offensive fire power is obvious and troubling. What happened to the days of WRU? That is when we were winning the Natty’s. How do we get back? Would love to hear comments/thoughts.

Take two players to achieve. For a while the team really didn’t have a good combination of throwers and catchers! The receivers might be better than many think. I couldn’t even guess how many passes I have watched sail out of bounds uncatchable by any receivers. We are all hoping that the coaches have made the right moves to correct this poor play. Bringing Riley into the program was a plus I think.

I seriously like our defense. Like the best I’ve felt since before 2020 COVID season. There’s so much length in the secondary, and speed, and physicality. Mukuba may have one of the best years for a safety that we’ve seen since McDaniel, or some other good ones. Then Peter Woods and all those in the front 7.
I agree with this bold take. I don’t think we’ve had an OC that was so accomplished at such an age of 33. Even Chad Morris. It’s weird that being a Riley makes you insanely good at coaching QBs, but it does. He’s got the similar formula that Lincoln has with Caleb Williams. At least he can with Cade.

Agree. We won two Nattys with generational QBs and WRs. I don’t see any of these on our present roster. Unless we can win with out scheming the better teams we will not be an elite team this year. Not the news I wanted to disseminate

You must be a Coot

The idiocy of that statement is profound.
Dabo didn't play for 6 straight CFP's, in 4 National Championship games, AND winning 2 by getting lucky. He didn't ONLY win because of his QB's.
Your narrative needs work. Clemson won all those games on the back of elite DL talent, and Defense.
Klubnick was higher rated recruit than Deshaun. TL was the highest rated in the modern era, yet he only won 1.
When Klubnick gets Clemson back in the CFP Coot fans will scream "generational talent", "the ride is over" AGAIN. But it never turns out to be true. Dabo will keep on winning, with another QB.
Deshaun, Kelley Bryant, Trevor...and soon Klubnick, maybe Vizzina after him....the beat goes on.
Dabo isn't lucky, he recruits studs at QB.
Just like Nick Saban.

Just look at the scores of recent playoff games. And don’t forget we coulda/shoulda scored 50 on Alabama’s best ever defense. Scoring in the 20’s and 30’s ain’t gonna win a Natty.

If Briningstool is used more I could see him rising into a 3rd round pick or so. He's got solid speed and a massive frame.
Also would not be shocked if Mafah leaves with Shipley.
