My family and I went kayaking at King's Bay at Crystal River, FL on Thursday. At Hunter Run we saw a boat painted completely in Clemson logos, etc. (Can post pictures when we get to a place with decent service). It had the number 54 on it. Anyone know the story? Thanks.

No idea, but a fellow I used to work with said he was fishing in that area years ago and got a little too close to the sub base. He said their lines were in the water and they were sipping some cold beverages when a military boat with a gunner on the front came upon them from out of nowhere. The guy had no small talk and wanted to know what they were doing there. He told them they were fishing, and the military guy told them "no, you're not fishing, I suggest you get your lines back in the boat and move further back up the creek." He said "yes sir" and they moved on.

That happened to me a few years ago on the salt water side of bushy park. I had some pluffmud streaks in my skippys after that encounter

Kings Bay and Crystal River are on opposite sides of the state…
But yeah…the Kings Bay boys don’t mess around.

Not one dang bit. My ex brother-in-law used to live there and we got run off more than once. Those MP’s couldn’t take a joke either. Even tried offering them a drink, they weren’t laughing ??

Precisely why I don't mess with that part of the river. I stay harbor and as far offshore as possible.

I remember when the sub base wasn’t even there. It was some prime fishing spot. They moved the subs from Charleston to Kings Bay. Helped businesses there but brought the crime to Camden Co.

of Puerto Rico. I was sailing South one night to the Caribbean islands, when these flashing lights surfaced fairly closed. Scared the heck out of me, before I realized it was a sub.
