Clemson Appeal to the Lowcountry Kids

I, for one, am so glad I chose Clemson as my college choice over Wofford. It was narrowed down to both of those for me, and I went with the bigger, more diverse university in Clemson.
I remember going to the Clemson Extension Office in the Pee Dee Area my senior year of high school in 2002 before going to Clemson and going to a function there that basically got us excited about going to Clemson and what to expect.
I still wonder at times if there's a Florence Clemson Club anymore. Does anyone out there have any information on this?
TIA

Glad you chose Clemson; however Florence ain't in the low country. Lowcountry territory begins at the junction of US 78 and US 301 at Bamberg and includes all territory south there of.

refer to the Pee Dee and Myrtle Beach as the Lowcountry. Must be some mystique they are trying to get in on. I'm an old Allendale boy, which is borderline with Thoroughbred Country, but I claim Lowcountry...I guess for the same reason.

Maybe I am wrong ,but US 78 runs East from Charleston and West into Tennessee, and 301 is closer to Orangeburg .For me the true low country is the lower part of the state South ,or Southeast of I-95 and south of Myrtle Beach.

I’d say the I95 line makes sense. I probably would not go as far north as MB. I’d stop around Georgetown. I grew up on Johns Island so no question there. And I agree that coming to Clemson was one of the best decisions I ever made. So much so I made the same decision again 2 years ago after being away for 35 years.

I guess a better term would be Lower State Kids if you'd like to get technical.
Basically, the 843 Area Code
