Clemson 3-point shooting

Posted: Feb 16, 2020, 12:41 PM

Did you know?
In the 1986-1987 season Clemson had a .448 3-pt. %, making 203 of 453 attempts in their 31 game season.
This remarkable stat is attributed to the dominating presence of Horace Grant which required opponents to double team him under the basket.
Heard this on the Clemson Coaches show this morning!

The three point line was a little closer, but we did have some great shooters on that team. For example, Michael Tait shot 51% on three point shots.

An epidemic throughout college basketball. Lots more great athletes these days, but they aren't good fundamental basketball players. Poor shooting, poor passing, and poor recognition of what the defense is doing. How to beat a double team or a trap. Or, if a team switches to a zone and how to attack it. Frustrating watching games sometimes. It's what I see, sorry if it sounds like a glory days thing. Lol

was that the year the 3 pt line was inside top of key***
