Chris Hairston

Sep 17, 2012, 8:40 AM

The Buffalo News lead article on the game mentions that Chris Hairston threw the big block that led to CJs 38 yard run in the first half. There are several nice quotes about CJ in the article from other Bills players.

wasn't Hairston a 2 star recruit we just happened to pick up

at the shrine bowl. This fact levels me out of recruiting these big name o-lineman. with o-lineman it's about attitude, size, and coaching for the most part. Not saying guys that 5 stars are busts but we've had some 4 star o-lineman in recent history and which one of those impressed you? the 2 star guy and the walk-on tightend did. And coming soon, maybe even the 3 star Fullback recruit in Shatley.

It's about being mean and coming to work every day and thats why chris hairston is throwing lead blocks against the kansas city chiefs and making millions right now. If I was an o-lineman i'd be working my butt off to get to that level because it's not out of the scope of reality like other positions.

That's correct

I don't think he was even on the radar screen of major colleges until the Shrine Bowl practices.

Chris came out of Winston-Salem Carver-an unknown

We're from WS so Chris would ride home with my son when they had weekends off. Very humble, quiet guy-the big teddy bear type-but with quick feet. They lived in a poor part of town and his mom eventually bought him an old Dodge caravan-wonder what he's driving now? Great story for a great kid.

The picture in the Buffalo paper shows CJ "flying" low to the ground. I still have photo shopped pic of CJ with the cape on flying over tall buildings-pics look the same.
