Now we know why LSU played the texas bowl, even though they had 40ish players

The Cheez-it Bowl paid more than the Gator Bowl.

The money doesn't go to the school. It goes to the conference, the only extra money is to cover travel expense. This is why the ACC having 10 bowl teams makes a huge difference in payout vs 5 teams in bowl games. Higher tiered bowl increase income. Notre Dame partakes in all the ACC bowl earnings from ACC. They don't share their TV money if obtained from non-ACC TV affiliated channel.

That said it's tine for ND to join the ACC. I think they would increase that annual income per team by close to $10mil but likely cost them close to $7-10mil annual. ND is losing money from ACCCG which would be a big bonus to the annual $$ as I expect them to be in that game every other year if they are in the Coastal division.

Its time for ND to join the ACC. End of the day, I think they would benefit. We keep the conference games at 8 and it allows ND to maintain some long term OOC games. Yeah, might be hard but does it matter if you plan to be Nat Champ? Reply, who is the hard team outside ACC. USC hasn't been a challenge, Stanford seems to have stepped back, they are almost a lock or Navy and BC. Not sure their 4 game OOC schedule is that much more crazy than actual full 8 game season of ACC that offers a few good teams.

They don't need the ACC in football.

That's 6 five star recruits. That's good.

After expenses our cut from the game may break us slick but I doubt it. A non-Playoff or New Year 6 game is not about the $ for a program like ours.

ACC lost tens of millions from canceled bowl games

Jan 15, 2022, 9:47 AM

Clemson has to share revenue from our game, but receive nothing from the 4 ACC bowl games that were canceled
