I guess you can improve a little, but after 4 games you pretty much are what you are going to be. Last year we were all hopefully the Offense was going to get better after 4 games and we know how that turned out.
I'm just going to get to get use to the new reality that we're going to have to out score teams this year to get where we want to go.

And 4-0 and ranked 5th so big deal. We will play a team as good as Wake with the pass the rest of the year unless Syracuse has a great day.

If it doesn't get better its a big deal. If DJ doesn't play uncommon compared to the previous 16 games we were toast. Have to be better on pass D.

And 'Cuse will be playing at Clemson so that's not going to happen. They depend on that Dome for much of their success in my opinion...

Don't think you can say "you are what you are" with respect to our pass defense. Yesterday was embarrassing but there were too many starters in the defensive backfield missing. Surely, that made a big difference in Wake's passing game. Having said that, I am surprised at the lack of time the Tiger defense is spending in the opposing team's backfield...

Seemed the line got pressure yesterday, Hartman was able to find a ittle spot when the pocket was collapsing to throw. Hartman will be one of the better QBs faced this year. He made some unreal throws in tight windows. Just keep finding a way to win. That's the name of the game.

With in my opinion the best receiver corps we will play till playoffs and Perry probably the best we see all year

It's an adjustment, right.
Most people take a moment to get acclimated to "new roles and positions"!
Goodwin and Conn will figure it out. The DL not getting pressure hurts the pass coverage.
Furman hurt us with the screen game. We clearly adapted and learned from it.
Right now, we are good. As long as we keep winning even if we have to outscore opponents(kind of feels good to say) we will be fine on defense for harder games later in the year.

opponent was running the ball at will and had no need to pass vey much.
Maybe that’s changed.
I’d love to see the ruddying defense stats for the top 10-15 best passing defenses.

We are never high in pass defense.. the main difference between yesterday and years pass were the penalties which should be an easy fix and one our usual starters probably don’t make as often

On a lot of the plays we had guys in position on poorly thrown balls.. clean up half those flags and I believe it would had looked like a completely different game.. we will see if Reed can get the young guys coached up fast because NC State will test them early and often

Do you think we weren't (mostly) blanketing guys but those youngsters need to turn around and find the ball, or were there receivers just running wild in the secondary? Did a similar situation against a pass heavy La Tech have anything with the current rankings?
