Well, Football is a very ad hominem. It is often violence directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining. Of course there are those that can maintain both violence at the person and a position and that is why BV gets the bucks.

football is a mini-war with rulz. It is a battle for territory, and as long as your army can advance 10 yards total in four tries, you get to keep going forward and gaining territory. If not, you have either scored, or you have to retreat, as the other army starts to advance on their offensive.
The great thing is that, except on very rare occasions, nobody dies, or is permanently injured, unlike actual war. I apologize in advance if the analogy offended any veterans, certainly not my intention on this 4th of July weekend.
