Ticket Question
Sep 25, 2014, 8:50 AM
|
|
I'm not familiar with buying tickets on Tigernet. I do see the Tickets section on the face page and that the tickets can be bought electronically.
Is there any other way to buy tickets?
More importantly, how did that woman recently scam several people by selling tickets on this site? In other words, how can I trust the ticket source?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

The "classified" ads on TigerNet are typically face to face exchanges...you give them money, they give you tickets. However, each ticket has a unique barcode in order to sell them electronically. The buyer of the electronic ticket prints a new ticket at home with a new barcode, thus voiding the barcode on the actual ticket. So I suppose the lady scammer could have sold tickets that were already sold electronically, however I would think scammers on this site are few and far between. As an alternative, StubHub is the safest and most reliable way to buy tickets other than direct from the ticket office.

Stubhub is probably the best way to go. We use them for bowl games and have always had a good experience.

If you are concernd and the site administrators cannot alleviate those concerns, you may want oconsider trying one of the online secondary markets like StubHub.
StubHub, which is owned by eBay, is the largest online ticket marketplace in the US. While tickets purchased through StubHub can be a little more pricy, you do get a 100% guarantee. StubHub guarantees that;
1 - You will get the tickets you ordered in time for the event and that they will be valid for entry
2 - If any of the above does not occur, StubHub will locate comparable replacement tickets (which may be a little tricky as you're trying to enter the venue on the day of the event) or send you a refund
3 - You will get a refund if your event is cancelled and not rescheduled

you are guaranteed to get the tickets. Having said that the majority of sellers on TigerTickets are legit. If you do go that route, buy ONLY from TigerNet Donor members that have been on the board for a while.

Just show up at the stadium

I just sorted the UNC game by date on this site. There were 2 buyers and 28 sellers in the first 30 listings. Just show up for the game on Saturday and walk around asking people who are holding up tickets how much they'll take. Someone will give you an answer you'll love.
As someone who sold extra seats on here for over a decade, I can tell you that the market for Clemson games is much softer than people would have you believe. You should never pay more than 50% over face for even the biggest games. UNC tickets this weekend will be like going to a Furman or SC State game by the time kickoff rolls around.

Last year and tail gated till 6 pm. I took multiple hiking trips during that time all around Clemson looking for 2 tickets and next got close to one for under $200, which was my limit. Packed up and just made it home by the time the game started.
I will say that is the only time I've ever not gotten tickets since I gave up my season tickets 5-6 years ago.
