Will never happen due to his past indiscretions. I'm confident he would win here.

I have been campaigning for Pat Kelsey for the last several years.

Kelsey is too political for my liking. I dont think he would be a good cultural fit at Clemson.

Isn't hiring the College of Charleston coach kind of like hiring the UNC-Wilmington coach?

I'd personally like someone established.

Hard pass on Pitino. I'd rather stay with Brad than have that slime ball at Clemson. You have to be joking.

Yeah because all we care about is being as ethical as possible and hiring coaches that preach the gospel. Winning doesn’t matter any more. Give me a break! Hire anyone that can put this program on the map.

I'm ready to move on from Brad for sure, but not if that were to mean hiring Rick Pitino, which is never gonna happen anyway.

BTW, pretty sure from sitting close enough to hear Brad sling some GD's that he's not big into preaching. He's hired to produce a better and consistent product. There are coaches out there that I think can do that without the heavy baggage that comes with someone like Pitino. Winning is important, very important, but it's not everything to me.

My hard “NO” - has turned into a soft “MAYBE” - after Brad.

Our next HC.

I say the short list needs to be Pat Kelsey, Bob Richey, and Shaka Smart.

I wanted us to go after Shaka Smart before he took the Marquette job. I'm slightly concerned that he underperformed at Texas, but that is kinda the modus operandi at Texas. But he sure has taken Marquette back to the top of the Big East.

But (this is one of those "hear me out!" comments), now that his legal issue is behind him, Chris Beard is a guy who took Texas Tech to the finals! And that's a program that is kind of like Clemson. You don't think of it as a basketball school. Now maybe the dropped charges make him toxic? But he also might present a full picture of the situation in an interview. My only concern (coaching wise) is that Beard's whole career has been spent in the state of Texas. But does it matter as much in hoops as it would on the gridiron?

What about the coach of the Dayton Flyers

Anthony Grant is a good candidate...He's been very successful at Dayton but it's a matter of if he would leave his alma mater

Charles Barkley

He alone would pack LJ every game. Kids would flock to him.

Kellen Sampson. Assistant Coach at University of Houston. Negatives are, he has never been a head coach in Div I BB and the culture shock from Houston to Clemson might be a bit traumatic. Positives are, he has studied at the feet of his father, a future HOF coach, his entire life and as an assistant at U of H since 2014. They say he runs the Houston practices which are historically tough, traumatic and exhausting, even brutal shoot-arounds on on game days. His style produces aggressive defense remarkable offensive rebounding. They also recruit extremely well.

I don't have any idea if that would translate well to Clemson and the ACC but it sure has worked at Houston.
