I know we only won 51.5% of our games…

this season, but I think this was an outlier. I suspect CBB will have this program back up to the .568 winning percentage we have all come to expect in no time.

Insanity means

Doing the same thin over and over expecting a different result. I've been watching all my life, 62 years, and we still suck in basketball. Why can't we be good in all sports?

Actually the thing we have been doing over and over is changing coaches without other emphasis on the program and expecting different results. Either the new coach bombs out or they do will for a couple of years and take the first offer out of town. Cant believe you missed it.
BTW, we are good in basketball under CBB. We are not great but then we dont invest a great amount of resources so it make sense to a reasonable person.

Last night reminded me of when Tate George Scored

the game-winner on us in the sweet 16, we were so close. We were exactly that close last night, which tells me that our best days are ahead of us. As I recall, Cliff Ellis' best years were after that game too.

I remember when Bingo Potts got a call for 'double dribble' and it cost us a game. At lest that got rid of the dribble thing.

Nice post.
My concern is that once again - the apologists and excuse makers - will point to winning 5 of the final six (even though all but one was in lower standing than Clemson) and try and make a case to retain BB. They need to quit looking at a snapshot and look at 12 seasons. Are we better than when OP was the coach? Are we really trending in the right direction or simply have an outstanding power forward and decent surrounding cast - that will again lose many pieces after the season? And still finished 10th. Look at the 12 years. A well known Tiger net supporter of BB made the comment saying - we should not simply be coach hopping. Really? 12 years getting the same results is not coach hopping. Programs that want and expect more would have moved on after 4-5 years, not 12. BB gave it his best, but was not able to move us forward. Clemson once again - with the best team Clemson has had in years - with the worst ACC teams in decades - with a tremendous talented inside player - still finished 10th and had to play in the playin round of the ACC tournament - still did not make it to the round of 8 (although nice try). It is BS that Clemson does not spend money on Basketball. Check the budgets and what they pay coaches of the teams that will make the dance. See what their home stadium is compared to Littlejohn. Time to give someone else a shot.

I appreciate that you’re trying to be responsible in your messaging and not oversell, but I think 0.585 is within reach if we can pick off one of those extremely talented private school teams like St. Bonaventure that tend to throw us off our game at home.

But what you are forgetting is that we won 83.33% of our final 6 games, and those 6 games made up 18.18% of the total games played this season....the math is on our side.

true. it reflects upon bb’s quote in his self titled autobiography
Mar 10, 2022, 12:27 PM
|
|
“i drink lotsa whole milk and love plain toast”
it’s only 7 pages long, but it’s a compelling read. in it he writes:
“i found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. but if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed. and I gotta tell ya, it feels phenomenal.”
