Couldn't do better than the staff we have right now! Amazing.
In all honesty, I think the world of Chad and think he did great things, but I don't think he would have won in 2016. His play calling in 2015 was getting a bit predictable, which hurt us in the Natty that year. I think we just needed a wrinkle on his system to get over the hump.

A bit, it was blatantly obvious most of the time his last year and a half. We just had the position talent that it couldn’t be stopped sometimes

People don’t give chad enough credit. He took an anemic offense and immediately made it explosive. He didn’t have 2 different generational talents at qb. He didn’t have good offensive lines.
He threw too many screens for my taste and would abandon the run too easily, but he was still a stellar coach.
I would actually contend that we would only have won 1 of our nattys if we didn’t have the chad. We wouldn’t have gotten Deshaun Watson without him. Also, without us winning the first natty, we may not have gotten Trevor Lawrence. Who knows, but this thread is stupid.

I didn’t say he was a bad coach. Just don’t think he was natty capable which was the question. No one doubts his recruiting, his value and contribution to our current program.

I’ve long believed that Deshaun wins a heisman with Morris but we don’t win the natty. I think Elliot has a better approach to game management needed to win it all.

we either scored 10 or 50, so I'm not so sure he could have won two. Maybe not even one. Hard to argue against the offensive coaching we have now.

well, when you say "immediately," let's remember that many of us were squeaking around uncomfortably in our chairs after that first half against whatever FCS team we were starting with that year. Things got better, and I'll never forget how exciting Tigernet was back when we were getting those first video practice highlights of the team doing no-huddle drills. We just knew something special was brewing.

Bammer’s play calling in the last title game was reminiscent of the stuff Chad would pull in big games from time to time.
If you’re averaging 7 or 8 yards every run... DON’T THROW THE BALL 3 OR 4 PLAYS IN A ROW! THEY CAN’T STOP THE RUN!!!
A lot of times he would make things more difficult than they should have been. We know you’re smart, Chad. You don’t have to constantly remind us of your “brilliance” every time we’re in the red zone.

Was the Death Bubble Screen. I saw to many Tigers get the crap knocked out of them
on those plays.
Chad was a good coordinator. He was part of the rebuilding of the Tigers. He will always be OK in my book.

It's really impossible to say either way, but we dont win either one without his contributions to our program, and for that I will always be thankful.

I think 2015 and possibly 2016 may have been similar, but I think he too needed a Streeter. DW4 obviously fit CM's style, but he seemed lost when Stoudt had to play. Not sure how well he would have juggled the KB TL rotation.
