We do seem to have a pretty moral group of players compared to moat of what I see and hear about. (and yes, I know we have the occasional problem, too, but it is very rare at Clemson)

And most people think a lot of him. I wouldn't confuse him with the old coach

Rodney Garner is the problem, not Gus

Rodney Garner was cheating at Auburn during Pat Dye period. Then he cheated some more and then went to Georgia and cheated there and is back cheating at Auburn.

AU is the most sanctioned program in the country (if you don't believe it, look it up). Gus was there during the scam Newton stuff. Think he was clean? I doubt it, but he was smart enough to escape before it all came down.

Cause I feel as if we truly do make an effort to recruit/mold character among our players, but every team has a few bad apples, just don't think you can generalize a coach off of a couple guys because I'm sure there is a lot of good guys. I mean heck you ask somebody who isn't associated with clemson who watched the nc state game and they would say Battle is a thug but he truly isn't, his emotions got the best of him of on that Thursday.

Very smug statement ... Chad owes a great deal to Gus
Nov 17, 2013, 3:55 PM

We wanted two DL this year that chose Auburn this year badly ... but I am sure they turned thuggish only after selecting Auburn. Many examples of how hypocritical your statement out there.
Lot of thugs and a few of straight arrows out there on football fields. Being good at football has everything to do with genetics and work ethic and very little to do with morals.
