When he awarded 2 walkons a scholarship this yr, his speech

was almost identical to Dabos, including having one last scholarship in his back pocket. I appreciate what CM did at Clemson and am pulling for him to do well at SMU.

If you listen to his introductory press conference at SMU, it almost sounded like Dabo was giving the speech.

Been said many times, but I think Chad and Dabo...

...mutually benefited from their collaboration here at CU. Chad clearly helped Dabo build our program to where it is (both on and off the field), and I think Dabo provided a solid leadership roadmap for Chad. Operate with integrity, exude positive energy, recruit solid student-athletes, and personally engage students and fans. It will serve him well at SMU as he rebuilds that program.

Florida hired Muschamp, a UGA grad. (he sucked, of course, but that's another story.)

is not hiring an aggie. No self respecting aggie would take a job at UT.

Sorta' reminds me of the old adage, "there's nothing so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength." I truly believe it's the way Dabo operates, and he and the Chad are of the same ilk. I agree, give Chad a few years, or even just a couple of years, at SMU (which used to be quite a player on the National stage, the old NCAA sanctions notwithstanding) and Texas will come begging for him. In just a few years he went from high school coach to being the highest paid offensive coordinator in college football to head coach of a traditional CFB power program in the same state where he built his success in the first place. You can call it luck, perhaps, and being in the right place at the right time, etc., but that's an impressive resume. I hope he wins - unless he ever comes against Clemson, then gawd help him.
Go Tigers!

any place he thinks might boost his ego, further his career or fatten his bank roll then I'd agree.
It's more likely that Chad will take another job before Tejus fires Charlie.

While I wouldn't call them a sleeping giant, there is a lot more to work with than many gave credit for. One, it is STILL in TX, specifically Dallas, not exactly a crappy spot as many TX schools actually are. In fact I dare say all but Austin, Houston are behind them for that. Second, it's TX again, for recruiting. He's well known there and will get dudes. And while the cupboard is bare, it was only 2-3 Seasons ago they played in and won Bowl games with June Jones. And lastly, do any of yall honestly think the Chad would go somewhere he isn't confident he can win and rather quickly? Exactly. I thank him for his hard work and wish him the best.

One more thing, I think if Charlie gets the Boot, it's either Chad or Brule gets the call up. I have felt that about both of them for years, both HS coaches that made it big. Good on em.

My granddad's an SMU alum, among other things But I also hope Coach Morris does well wherever he goes. He was an instrumental part of bringing Clemson to the position we're in today and he deserves to reap the benefits. As long as he doesn't become an ACC Atlantic, Georgia Tech, or SCar head coach.
