CFP Semifinal in Arizona

Nov 23, 2019, 6:29 AM

I know we have two games left but, the CFP semifinal is during the holiday season. A girl has to plan! For the game in Arizona...what is the best area to stay? Airport suggestions? If I stay for the week, what other areas of the state would be good to visit? Any other info would be appreciated. TIA and Go Tigers!!!

How about Sedona

It's hour and 52 min drive to Glendale but probably cheaper lodging and I've heard of the red Rock mountains there that are awesome to visit.

Plus you may run into Michelle Branch. ??. She's from there and kinda HOT

Stay in Scottsdale. Really nice town with a historic.....

district, a new entertainment district (open air sports bars) and good restaurants. We did this for the last CFP and had a good time. There were plenty of fans staying there. We stayed at the Marriott.

We visited Phoenix. Not as relaxing and “vacationy” as Scottsdale.

We stayed in Scottsdale last time and it was great! Walkable and easy drive or Uber to stadium. Nice area and the locals were great Lots of Go Tigers from the hotel and various wait staff

I was born and raised in SC but now live in AZ. I agree with the other posters about Scottsdale. The team hotel usually is in Scottsdale as well. Very nice part of town with a lot to do. The Grand Canyon is amazing but will be a bit of a drive from Glendale. Sedona is amazing as well.

I have been out here for both games in AZ and am selfishly hoping they come back again. Love seeing the valley full of tigers!!

For me the flight prices have generally defined the airport. The good thing about looking for other things to do means you open up other airports. I agree with seeing the Grand Canyon. Las Vegas is only a 4 1/2 hour drive and the ticket prices are generally cheap. Gives something else to do as well. We stayed in Flagstaff the night before and after the game. It wasn't bad going in before the game, but it is a little long afterwards. If it is the early game, it might not be to bad but I would avoid it if it is the late game.
