CFP Committee

I was just looking to see who is on it now and in the past. Thought you might be interested too. https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2017/10/16/selection-committee.aspx

I know it has been discussed before, but I am compelled to say again, the CFP Committee and current process is a big improvement over past practices. I don’t think we have our two titles if the ‘top two teams’ were still chosen by the polls or the BCS.

IMO: The best team in the country has won the title every year of the CFP...

...okay, maybe not in 2015!

How can you say that we wouldn't have had our 2 NC under the BCS. We were one of the top 2 teams every year we made the playoffs. If I recall they kept a comparison of the top teams for a few years afterwards and we would have been either #1 or 2 every year. The difference would have been 2 years ago we were #1 and had to face Bama at #4. Bama may not have been in the championship game that year leaving us to play either UGA or Oklahoma for the championship. I would have liked our chances against either of those. So would we have had the last 3 championships doubtful but we would have more than likely won 2 of the last 3 regardless.

rankings. Under a poll system and the BCS, I am of the opinion we would have been ranked lower because of our losses, ‘lesser competition’, and inflated opinions (ie., ranking) of the ‘bluebloods’. Do you not recall those discussions by the ‘talking heads’ - who drove rankings? Look no further than present preseason polls. Sure, we’re number 1 now, but after 4 years, Dabo and the Tigers are finally making believers out of the ‘heads’.

I’m not saying we weren’t deserving - nor that we weren’t as good. But what I am saying is we suffered from a lack of respect in 2015-2018.
