after the season.
I know if he was my son I would be asking him if he didn’t think it might be a good idea considering the way the coaches have handled him all season.
We will end up being stuck with DJ for another year and down a five star QB because of Dabo’s absolute refusal to try something different.
If DJ was an employee somewhere he would’ve been fired long ago for not producing.

From what Cade has shown us thus far, we would not be losing much. I really don’t understand some of you people’s idol worship of Cade. Right now he is nothing more than an average high school QB. He is not ready to lead a college football team to glory. Good Grief!!

The old "Cade is not ready" mantra just doesn't play. Let's imagine that DJ got hurt and we had to put in another QB. If Cade is not ready, then who is? If Cade is not ready, whose fault is it? There are numerous instances where backup QBs had to step in when the starter was hurt, and excelled. Are you saying our recruiting and coaching is so bad that we can't do what other teams do successfully? When your starter is ranked 80 out of 109, somethings wrong. I would be willing to say that if Cade had been the starter this year his ranking would be a whole lot better than that. If not, then the whole coaching staff needs to be fired.

Speaking of Good Grief, you’re calling the #1 rated QB in last years class, who won 2 state championships and as I recall, never lost a game, in the highest division in arguably the toughest high school football state in the country “an average high school QB”????????!!!! Wow.

After seeing Dabo and Streeter’s latest comments, I wouldn’t touch that bet. If I’m Cade’s dad, I’d be confused as to why my son was not offered more playing time when the starting quarterback had a 25% completion rating. That’s one of the worst all-time performances in Clemson football history that DJ performed. There’s no sense in restating with everyone else has said about how Hunter, Johnson and Kade most likely would have done much better than DJ.

Do you really think Cade came to Clemson expecting to start this year? I don’t think so. I’d say DJ probably is ready for a change of scenery and it will be Cades job to lose.

No. I don’t think he came in expecting to play as a freshman. But after DJ’s lack of production and the way he was used and immediately pulled if he made a mistake tells an athlete that you don’t trust him. Meanwhile, DJ continues to make critical mistakes with ZERO consequence. Cade should’ve been playing this season. Period. If he truly is worse than DJ then we have a much larger problem to deal with as far as recruiting, development, etc.

The issue is DJ seems to be the guy going forward. It ain’t about this year as it’s already done. The thing for Cade is if Dabo thinks DJ is clearly #1 then Cade won’t be playing next year either except in garbage time or rare occasions ala this year.
Guys who are 5 star don’t just wait around to play anymore in the portal age. Look at other top programs and their QBs. Take idk pick a guy like Justin Fields. He had his time at UGA. Then he bounced to OSU.

Where you are wrong is that this year is NOT already done except in the eyes of some fans. Dabo has 5 stated goals for his program that are the same every year. 2 of those 5 goals are still on the table and the season becomes much worse if we miss on both of those. This season may be done for you but the team and Dabo still have a lot to play for.

I mean why would he stay? He’s a 5 star QB recruit who’s gotten pushed as the backup QB by the HC.
In modern CFB they all transfer in that situation. The kid isn’t just gonna sit around on the bench and wait another year. They all hit the portal. They might red shirt and then wait a year, but beyond that if you aren’t playing top flight guys they move on.
Just look at other top programs. Ohio State has had QB churn. UGA has had QB churn. They all do. It’s just the way of the world, and I don’t blame Cade if he goes. Why should he just want to wait around for another year to ever sniff the field?

All these people saying Cade isn’t the man, how do you know? He hasn’t played enough for us to judge whether he can be the man or not. Not many true freshman can fill the shoes of DW4 and Trevor. They were an anomaly. I think Cade is special. He has something that DJ lacks, fire and passion.

At this point doubt it, DJ isn’t going to have another option unless he quits football. Dabo is told the world Saturday that Cade is worse then a 27% completion percentage in that means there is nothing DJ can do to lose his job. He probably won’t transfer but if it came out that he’s already told Dabo he’s transferring I definitely wouldn’t be shocked.

on the field that Cade has not been allowed to compete for playing time or reps in 2022. Agree with all those stating he should transfer if DJ is considering a return in 2023. Time is of the essence. Cade needs to leave in Dec. 2022 to enroll and play Spring Ball elsewhere in 2023. We'll see what happens. I'm expecting more transfers.

That's the question at hand. Based on the body of work will Dabo have conversations with both DJ and Cade and indicate that a transition is likely? If so Cade will stay. If not, he's gone. Discussion on TI that Cade will start against UNC (due in part to DJ's injury). I do call BS on that and expect that DJ will go the distance this year.

Not saying it's a guarantee but I don't see Cade transferring.
His demeanor doesn't scream "I'm disgruntled" and at this point, I haven't seen or heard anything that shows CK2 has voiced that he's upset with how things have been handled. CK2 has probably handled this year as well as a former 5 star recruit could and he seems to even has DJs back as a teammate.
Personally, the feel I get is that DJ transfers before CK2. I mean, I've actually read and heard rumors of DJ leaving the team after graduating this year but, outside of posters just spouting off on a message board, I've yet to see any real evidence that CK2 is contemplating leaving.
That said, if Vizzina comes in and is the equivalent of Trevor Lawrence or DW4 as freshman THEN I could see CK2 heading out if he's not improving but we have a long while before entertaining that thought.

Certainly can understand based on the statistic you provided.
That said, I have seen quite a few posters claim Vizzina is the real deal and could surpass CK2.
I take it with a grain of salt because I honestly thought Cade was going to overtake DJ at some point this year.
Now, I'm just in wait and see mode to see what happens come the off-season.

I would HOPE that Dabo is 'on top of things' well enough to have already decided how he wants to play out the off season and next Fall. Again, I HOPE he has already had the conversations about which QB needs to stay and which needs to go. If he has, then his handling of the situation and press conferences makes sense. Stay with DJ through this season, then part ways and announce Cade as next year's likely starter. Again, hopefully, he makes changes in his staff as well.

Is it less than 4? If so it wouldn't surprise me for them to make this year a redshirt year, so that he has 4 years left. Also wouldn't surprise me if Dabo didn't lay that out to Cade and his family at the very beginning. It's kind of the only thing that makes sense. "OK Cade, we'll give you a few snaps through out the year, but we'll ride DJ unless he gets hurt and can't go for multiple games."

I don’t see it, I think it was never the plan to force Cade into starting this year. I think if anyone transfers it will DJ. He could very well light it up with a fresh start. But I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be wrong again.

Exactly, Justin Fields, too. It doesn’t work for every qb, but DJ has the physical tools if he can clear his head and focus on the game. I just don’t think he can do that here with the baggage.

The only way I see Cade hitting the portal is if DJ comes back. And even then, it will be because the writing is on the wall. The job will be guaranteed to DJ regardless of his performance. If DJ returns, I may portal as well!
