Jackson a better passer

These analyst must have been watching a different game on Saturday that UL and UNC. Lamar Jackson is a terrible passer. He can not hit any throw that needs to some finesse. He can only hit throws that need to be rockets across the middle. I am pretty sure he missed upwards of 5 throws in a row at one point in the game. Mostly to open receivers towards a sideline! So hype guys, please spare us that he is a better passer. He is awful!

Uh...he's good. Deshaun made mistakes too. Scrambling and throwing on the run will effect things. It will take all we got to beat them. Luck is one of them. We can win, but this will not be easy.

Right now Lamar is completing 65% of his passes. That's a respectable percentage. But let's look at who they have played. Purdue pass defense is 109th in the nation. UNC pass defense is worse at 126th in the nation. I certainly hope he has done well. Clemson's pass defense is #1 in the nation. Lamar will be scrambling and rushed so I don't see him completing more than 50% of his passes and he will have to throw a lot because they will not be able to run against the Clemson D. Will not be close. 39-21 Clemson.

The reason Purdue is 109th and UNC is 126th in the nation in pass defense is due mostly in part to Lamar Jackson putting up huge numbers against them in 50% of their games .
Let's not pretend he is Dan Marino , but he isn't Willie Lunchmeat either .

Jackson is a better thrower this year than last year. I still don't think he is a great passer though. Cal's QB threw for 350 on unc. Miami of Ohio's qb threw for 230 on Purdue. Both teams Louisville has played has had terrible defense.

He can overthrow 3-4 passes but hook up for one for 70 yards on a busted play. Result is still 7 pts.

Auburn's offense is 106th in the nation in YPG and and 95th in scoring offense. Does that make our defense overrated? I'm sure Auburn will end up much better than that. Stats can be skewed this early in the season. With that said, I honestly have no idea how this will turn out. This is IMO one of the hardest Clemson games to predict.

We have 3 of 4 defensive lineman back from last year's great defense and Austin Bryant is back at DE allowing Wilkins to move back inside where he plays best and you're not sure we have a good defense. LB are very good (Tre Lamar is a beast inside) and DB can handle what they need to (Mark Fields needs to quit holding receivers). The Auburn game with respect to our defense was not a fluke and Louisville's OL is not very good. Jackson will be pressured all game. We will man to man the receivers and put a man on Lamar to shadow him and if we can do this effectively then this game will not be close. 39-21 Clemson.

that Purdue and UNC have low rated pass defenses in large part due to Loovull and Lavar.
I'm with the worry warts on this one. Scares the heck out of me.

I agree his passing is a joke. UNC's defense wasn't torched by Lamar being Lamar, I watched the game as well and he missed multiple passes by a mile not because of tightly defended balls but because of him missing the target. He lost nearly every target from last year, including the TE that torched us last year because Ben was too slow to defend him well. Their RB won't be coming out as a slot like last year either and I think he really struggles.

With all due respect you are wrong on all points. Yes, we lost receivers from last year, but they have been upgraded this year, including a freshman averaging over 22 ypc with three touchdown receptions. Remember the names Jaylen Smith and Dez Fitzpatrick. And we will always be fine at TE as long as Bobby is here, with the position already having seven receptions in the first two games.
And the running backs have caught 10 passes in the first two games, so obviously with your pass rush, they will be utilized a lot Saturday. I provide this information to let you know that Lamar has plenty of quality options again this year, not to boast. Will it be enough to win? I have no idea. I am like many in this thread in that I don't know what to expect. I am hopeful that the home field advantage will be the difference, but it's truly anybody's guess.

My comment to your running back was that it's now a backup, also he will need to remain behind the line most the time to stop the pass rush. I'm not criticizing your TE's talent but the fact that we replaced our linebackers with more speed there now to stop from being hurt by TE's as we did so many times last year, also they will have to block the ends more than last year as we have our starters back who were hurt this game last year (and all season). This will be the first non mediocre defense your new skill positions will see so far this season and it's first test being one of the best if not the best defense in the country is a tall order. I expect LJ to do LJ things and thinking we will totally contain him is not only a large expectation but a nearly unrealistic one due to the kind of athlete he is. I'm not saying your players can't handle it, I'm just stating that they haven't had to yet. I agree with my statement that I think he struggles and that's due to the fact the play makers around him will hinder him.

I mean it's easy to rack up yards when most of the guys you're throwing to are wide open. Petrino just does a good job of scheming up plays to make Jackson look good.
