Can’t afford to lose Klubnik

Don’t call me a coot and start that crap. I’m
Just posting truth and reality. The only concern I have going into next season with Dj and Klubnik is if Klubnik is better and knows he’s better. And Dj does start anyway with the way the transfer portal and NIL stuff works you have to wonder how long Klubnik would sit behind Dj when
He can go about anywhere and start day 1. I’m making a bold prediction if Klubnik is the starting Qb next season Clemson will be in the playoffs. It’s that simple start Klubnik your in the playoffs. We can’t afford to lose him by having him sit behind a less talented QB.

Dabo can’t be motivated by fear of losing to portal. If so

Has its own consequences. If Klubnik is the best option I believe he will play. On the flip side if he plays and DJ transferred where would we be if Cade got injured. Hard to keep great qbs in waiting with this new era of football. But I think Dabo will play the qb who gives us the best chance to win.

There isn't even a slim chance that he would transfer if he didn't start next year.

Nope not even close I just know Klubnik is the best Qb in the county next season. But he’s got to play to prove it

The guy needs to get stronger. He has a lot to learn. He definitely won't be the best QB in the nation next year. Also, he will get plenty of play next year no matter what.

Klubnik is exact same weight and height as D. Watson

When he came it, it took a while, but he got bigger and stronger as Klubnik will

I would bet every penny I have that he won't be the best QB in the nation next year. Will he become the starter at one point? That's very possible. He still has a lot to learn and still needs to get stronger. He knows that though. That's why it won't be a problem. That guy will get plenty of PT. He is a humble class act.

A QB does not need to be overly strong, but he does need some strong boys upfront to protect him. Some of the great QB's of the past did not look to be overly pumped up by weight lifting. They do need smarts, though.

Way too early to get too excited about a player not even on campus until tomorrow. If we know one thing about Dabo it is he will play the best player. Just ask Kelly Bryant.

You obviously have no idea what your talking about, Cades dream since he was 12 was to play for Dabo in clemson. He knows DJ is the starter and what his position will be next year. Guarantee Cade will do his best to hype DJ up and light that fire in him as well. If you’ve read anything about cade his character speaks for himself just like his talents.

Don’t be silly.

Cade signed months before DJ had his down year. He committed knowing he’d have a qb battle, prepared to sit at least a year.

End of the day coach is going to play the player that he believes gives us the best chance to win. He owes that to every single player on the team. Hence, benching KB for TL 4 games in.

Whats the point of worrying about something you can’t control.

Re: Can’t afford to lose Klubnik

You point out an important fact that when he signed he expected to be sitting. However, he also expected to be sitting behind a future 1st round draft pick. Does that dynamic change if DJ improves to a middle of the road QB and Klubnik feels like he is the better of the two?

I'm not saying what he does. Just stating it is a big difference waiting your turn behind a future NFL QB and someone that right now doesn't look like he could get an undrafted free agent tryout. I included DJ improving some, because otherwise Klubnik starts if he is anything close to advertised.

Klubnik committed before DJ had this bad season. Think about it: Everyone judged DJ based on his high school credentials and the two games he shined in while Trevor was out. Most assumed DJ would be a 3 year guy, and then bolt for the NFL. Klubnik knew there was a great chance that he would be backing up DJ in year one.
Klubnik now has a very realistic chance of earning the starting job this season, but in no way has the risk of leaving increased. He is the heir apparent, and he knows it.

We also cannot afford to lose our offensive line, we cannot afford to lose our defensive line, we cannot afford to lose a running backs, we cannot afford to lose our wide receivers, and cannot afford to lose our coaching staff and we cannot afford to lose our linebackers.

However it would not be the end of the world if Jesse 89 loses his or her keyboard.

A bold prediction wouldn't be that Klubnic takes the starting position but whether it will happen in after the first game or the second. It's just a matter of him getting accustomed to the speed of a college level game.
