The Following is a breakdown of the 12 game season into four quarters:
Quarter One: Showcase Clemson took advantage of the opportunity to showcase their team and to be under the national spotlight with an opening win over UGA. Their second win showcased some of the depth that lies in waiting (i.e. Back up QB sets record). Playing poorly in game three on the road and on Thursday night, yet winning by 12 ended up being as impressive as anyone else in a lackluster weekend of football.
Quarter Two: Shore Up The next three games against inferior conference opponents (WF, Syaracus, BC) give Clemson the chance to shore up its status among the nations elite along with a chance to shore up in areas of weakness as players gain experience.
Quarter Three: of Separation This 3-game run will determine much in regards to where Clemson can finish nationally. Games against FSU, Maryland and UVA will determine conference fate, along with conference and national championship possibilities. There will be separation between the nations elite, one way or the other.
Quarter Four: Solidify However Clemson comes out of the quarter of Separation, will determine just what they have to solidify. Is it to simply secure a respectable year and bowl? Is it solidifying their brand as a potential BCS player? Or is it solidifying their chances for a national title shot?
