Infrastructure Bill

Nov 15, 2021, 12:30 PM

So let me preface this by saying, for some god #### reason, my wife has it on that Good Morning America blood pressure elevating propaganda ######## in the mornings...this morning they were propping up Xiden talking about the infrastructure bill.

Headline:
Joe Xiden to sign $1.2T infrastructure package. Jobs! Build Back better! all that ########.

Details:
- $100B on bridges
- $60B on railroads
- $20B on ports

I don't recall these numbers specifically- I do recall asking my wife, so they said $200B out of $1.2T...where's the remaining trillion? ####### pieces of #### in our media...god ######.

So I looked it up:
$110B for roads and bridges, including funding for research at universities...simple queuing theory here, but ok
$66B for railroads - nothing for high speed rail
$65B for power grid; includes clean energy funding
$65b for broadband; focus is on rural and low-income. $14B would help reduce bills (I'm reading this as a subsidy / govt program and not actually helping our infrastructure)
$55B for water infrastructure
$47B cybersecurity and climate change - I'd like to see line items for this.
$39B in public transit - why the #### am I paying federal taxes on public transit. god ######
$25B for airports - why is this Federal?
$21B for environment - cleaning up sites....yeah, need to see line items for this ########
$17B for ports - half to Army Core of Engineers; balance to coast guard and reduction of truck emissions at ports...I'd like to see emphasis on capacity since we're going all in on bringing everything here, but what the #### do I know
$11B for safety...?????
$8B for western water infrastructure. Here's an idea. Don't build god #### cities in a ####### desert.
$7.5B for EV charging
$7.5B for electric school busses

Now......here's my BIG problem. This adds up to $544B. Where's the other $656B?

How come when I look this up anywhere, I see this same ######## where the total is less than half of the total bill? Any of you guys who follow this #### know? Or we gone sit around here slinging mud over some ###### useless ######## while 3/4 of a trillion dollars gets shoved right up our tax paying #####?

$11B for safety...?????

Nov 15, 2021, 12:36 PM

The money for safety is for hiring additional OSHA inspectors to enforce the mandates. This year it's covid mandates, next year it will be whatever "green" b.s. is a threat to public safety, such as farting too much.

It seems like in previous bills - they went ahead and

Nov 15, 2021, 1:24 PM

allocated 10% to "fraud".

This will probably get buried, but was curious so I looked around.

The bill authorized 550 billion in new funding as enumerated above, and the rest of the total is previously authorized funds for roads and other infrastructure, something called the highway trust fund that is apparently predominantly funded by gas taxes.

I understand the bleeped out rants are kind of your thing, but there’s usually very mundane and non-conspiratorial explanations for things like this.

Here’s the actual text of the bill

Can you post the link to the WSJ article

Nov 16, 2021, 5:35 PM [ in reply to Re: Infrastructure Bill ]

I wasn't able to find any mention of this when I was searching around the interwebs.

Considering we've already spent 6 god #### trillion dollars, yes, I am a little pissed off we're spending another trillion when I'm one of the sacks of #### in this country footing the bill.

I support some of the propositions, in theory. I don't support this much nor do I trust the scumbags in Washington to put together proposals that are cost efficient means of allowing us to truly boost our GDP.

If you have a non-conspiratorial explanation for the way the media treats this administration in particular - which was a small part of my rant - then I'm all ears.

I'd still like to see line items of what's in this $1.2T.

Number one rule - never trust the media - go to the source

If you want to know what is in the bill then go read it - something 99% of our Congress doesn't do. It's only 1000(+) pages of fine print that references thousands of other Government regulations and documents for where the money is actually going.

Here is a small sampling of the type of language that is throughout this bill:

(1) FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY PROGRAM.—For the national
highway performance program under section 119 of title 23,
United States Code, the surface transportation block grant
program under section 133 of that title, the highway safety
improvement program under section 148 of that title, the
congestion mitigation and air quality improvement program
under section 149 of that title, the national highway freight
program under section 167 of that title, the carbon reduction
program under section 175 of that title, to carry out subsection
(c) of the PROTECT program under section 176 of that title,
and to carry out section 134 of that title—
(A) $52,488,065,375 for fiscal year 2022;
(B) $53,537,826,683 for fiscal year 2023;
(C) $54,608,583,217 for fiscal year 2024;
(D) $55,700,754,881 for fiscal year 2025; and
(E) $56,814,769,844 for fiscal year 2026.

Anyway here is a link of the actual bill signed into law:

I appreciate the information

Nov 17, 2021, 6:27 PM

not being a doooooosh either, sincerely appreciative. Haven't had time to read the bill.

but what does this mean exactly? pardon my ignorance

and assuming (what you showed is ~$250B) the other missing $400B is buried in here like this?

maybe I'm screaming to the clouds here - but why this gotta be like this? isn't this part of the ####### problem to some of y'all? or just me?

when I sell a customer a $100M system, they know where every ####### penny goes. they know where every single doll hair is coming back, and when, to the certainty of a 95% confidence interval. does anyone do this for the government, or naw? I don't really politic b/c I ####### hate em all.

Let's be honest. The democrats have nothing to offer anyone except freebies. Free money, free stuff, no consequences for crimes, etc. is what the dems offer voters.
