Can we change the name to cootnet??

Feb 2, 2023, 9:58 AM

Or can we portal some fans over that way?? They get three OL from SC and everyone ignores the OL class we got this year and how well we’ve been recruiting Texas. Always makes me chuckle how Clemson fans talk so glowingly and jealous of a program that has never done anything. Guess Dabo should quit recruiting GA/TX and only focus on the world beaters in SC before we lose every game against the coots until the end of time ???

I agree with you. Clemson is a national brand that recruits other staes very well. The only time South Carolina has been relevant if thats what you want to call when they beat Clemson 5 years in a row is because the state of South Carolina was above average as far as prospects that can play at a D1 level. They do not recruit as good nationally. They will pull some players every now and then but for the suspense to build on the Harbor kid when his Girlfriend is enrolled at South Carolina is unbelievable. We knew where this kid was going from the time that was mentioned, and South Carolina is spending some NIL money, but they dont have what the top NIL schools have so they can't load up

It's easy to forget with how 2021 was but.....

in 2022, the OL was improved. Austin has done a good job of upgrading the talent level there (and the size of the guys as well, no more of those small guys going against guys 60lbs heavier on the DL). The next step is literally taking the next step from improved to dominating. As much as we critized Tate in 2021 as a true freshman (the opener comes to mind), he was light years better in 2022. Losing him near the end of the season had a huge effect after that.

I know Dabo said last year the OL would be most improved, and I expect him to say the WRs or the Secondary this year going into fall camp, but if you look at the rising juniors along with the rising sophomores and incoming freshman, this might be the most talented OL group we've had. Depending on how they improve from now through fall camp, we honestly could see us start sending some of these guys to the league (and not just as Free-agent undrafted signees either).

Exactly and they forget how deep we are with younger OL and this 23 OL class might be the best we’ve ever had. Imo I think Thomas is going to develop these guys into a great group. I just don’t get all of the whining, it’s like their egos are getting broken because a kid didn’t come here.

Exactly and OL is not a major emphasis is 2024. Did we want a coup of those guys? yeah. But I have no doubt we’ll probably go grab a couple solid Oline out of state. Good Job on Beamer to lock down the state but this state does not produce enough elite talent.

Like I said until I see them actually winning like they were under spurrier I’m not going to worry about them. I honestly don’t see a great coaching staff so I think they’ll be good for 8 - 9 wins a year which historically is still really good for them.

Who’s “jealous” and “talking glowingly?”

You seem to be making an inordinate amount of Coot-related posts/comments yourself, but that being said, in the last decade alone, we have 2 CFP titles, a bag full of conference titles, and have only lost to them once. It’s going to be okay.

Seems as if we have a number of fans, probably not graduates who are jealous of the UofSuC and don`t know the difference between a pond skimmer and a dirt ######! Everyone one this site makes them think of pond skimmers...guess making that fortune out of chicken houses didn`t pan out...after poultry is still C.S.

Who here is jealous of them?!?
