Can Amari Rodgers play running back? If we don't get

Etienne, which seems doubtful at this point, we will only have 3 running backs on scholarship. That's hardly enough to practice. Who will play scout team running back?
It looks like Rodgers is in the 5-9 215+ pound range. That seems perfect for running back. At the very least, we will need to get him involved in the "running game" via jet sweeps and quick passes to the flats.

Can't imagine he would be less fumble prone between the tackles. Doubt he could pick up a blitzing linebacker of defensive end with any success.
Amari is 215-220.
Why would you say Ray Ray over Amari?

our best option in pass pro. I think we will see more sweeps to get him the ball on the outside next year.

Have you seen Amari's highlight reel? Kid is all slot receiver. He runs tight @ss routes, great big hands, and tremendous football IQ...this kid is completely under the national radar and will be a stud. Much better than Tay Scott.

And he did it in only 3 years. We have a ton of talent but Tay will be missed. Dude was clutch and NEVER dropped balls. 1st down machine.

dude could line up and play any of our receiver spots on any given play. Artavis is probably the least easily replaced of our skill guys (excluding QB) because he could do so much

but Mike Williams was essentially only a 9 man for us. we have Deon Cain and Diondre Overton both waiting in the wings to fill the 9 man spot. Mike is great and made catches that some of these guys may not be able to, but he really was only 1 spot on our offense.
Jordan Leggett was a great pass-catching TE who improved his blocking, but a complete TE he is not. I think that we have plenty of options to fill this role between Milan Richard as a pass-catcher, Garrett Williams as a goal line blocker, and Cannon Smith as a wildcard who just might be a complete TE.
Wayne Gallman will be the second hardest non-QB to replace on offense. Wayne's blitz pickup is a thing of beauty and will keep him relevant in the league for years to come. however, you seem quick to forget that Wayne was locked in a battle, that he wasn't really pulling away from, during the 2014 season. he really matured since, but sometimes RBs just need a chance to spread their wings.
now this brings me to Artavis Scott. Artavis could play any of the receiver positions in our offense which was crucial for depth purposes and makes it nearly impossible to scheme him out of a game. also Artavis was as sure-handed as they come and never let an opportunity go to waste. also Artavis' blocking in our run game/screen game was something that can't be taught. certain guys just have that fight about them. Artavis was also a huge special teams spark and his big kick returns in multiple games helped DW4 and co get going at times

and leadership, to go along with that complete skill set you refer to.
He might not go that high in the draft as he's not as "sexy" as some other WR's coming out, but I can easily see a long and productive NFL career for him if he stays healthy.

I didn't mean it as a knock on Tay...I was simply implying that the physical skills that Rodgers has now is better than Tay at that age...Rodgers could flop obviously but I don't see that happening. Tay is and will always be one of top receivers in program history. Love the dude.

Fuller did improve somewhat over the season, but can he be the primary back Gallman was?
Choice has yet to show he's back to form.
Feaster has skills, obviously, but assuming he can be the feature back is speculation.
In my opinion, I wish we were signing at least one or even two high quality backs just to have more in play there.

We'll be fine at RB with what we have. I think we're in good shape to get White for next years class too. Amari is almost a A. Scott clone, so he'll probably do everything he was doing.
