Cade was lighting it up against Lake Travis, and I sure hope

that he will bring one of those receivers with him when he gets to Clemson. Another thought, and that is if DJ doesn't make a ton of improvement by next season, Cade Klubnik will come in as a true freshmen like TL16, and he will take DJ's starting position just as TL16 done with Kelly Bryant, and if that happens, will DJ do what Kelly Bryant did, hit the transfer portal Mad with everything that wears the Paw???

Agreed. Can run with more quickness and more of a dual threat than DJ. Fits our offense better. But he will not start at season’s start, have to play his way in

Cade looks, and plays, bigger than I originally thought he was.
Westlake offense is similar to ours, the learning curve should be quick.
I still hope DJ figures it out, and starts playing to his full potential.

Agree with bringing one of them receivers. Sounds like we're looking.

I posted this at halftime of the game.
I've watched the first half. Westlake is obviously a well coached team. Todd Dodge is a legend in the state.
As for Klubnick, I have two words: I'm impressed!
I am no recruiting expert. But, I see a guy who has all the tools. I am not saying he is equal to Trevor Lawrence, but he ain't that far behind. His mechanics seem solid. His accuracy and arm strength are more than adequate.
But, what is more impressive to me is his "field awareness."
And, what is just as impressive is he is coming back after missing three games with a dislocated shoulder. He ain't afraid to tuck it and run and stick his nose into a defender. He's not running away from contact.
I watched the Clemson spring game when Lawrence had just entered Clemson. (Before his freshman year.) I told a friend of mine at church the next day, "Barring injury, this kid is going to be the starter by midseason."
I'm not ready to predict that at this point. (I've only seen him play 3 HS games.) But, I will tell you this: I'm looking forward to watching the Spring game.

USUALLY, when a kid has this kind of talent in HS, it will be there at the next level, and I've always called those type a real athlete. They eat and sleep just to play their game!!!

Will Cade enroll in January?

If so, then the QB competition might be sooner than later. If he is not on campus until the summer, then I would think it's DJ's until he loses it.
Might make for half of a frustrating year.

In addition to his obvious skills on the field, Cade has already shown strong leadership ability and is always encouraging his teammates. This is an important detail for any quarterback.
