Cade Mayes effect...

Is what I’m seeing with the recruiting conversation. Tnet was all about Mayes and how he was a lock and what a great get he was going to be. Then he suddenly switched to UGA. See how well that turned out? Not worth worrying about. Dabo and staff have knocked it out of the park over and over with all level of stars. Whatever happens I trust we will be in good shape.

Cade Mays was WAY overrated. Couldn’t cut it at tackle d/t lack of quickness, now a guard, and not an esp. good one.

I beg to differ...
I think Mayes has all the potential in the world. He’s a very good OL and very physical. I think it’s time to place the blame where it truly lies and that’s at the feet of the overrated Sam Pittman. He’s brought in these biggins at UGA and they’ve been sh*t...outside of Thomas (who wasn’t his) and another guy.

Could be.... but all of these 5 star OL have not produced, clearly. They could’nt push UofSC when they needed a few yards.

UGA can't pass and can't run against Power 5 teams (don't say anything about Vandy). What does that say about their OL?

an elite, championship contender for years to come, with or without the one or two players everyone is fretting over. Look, recruiting is the lifeblood of college football, and you can't win without great players ... I totally get that and the excitement that goes along with it. Many seem to forget that we've recruited well enough to be in the CFP for 5 consecutive years, and we currently have the #1 or #2 class in the land. On top of that, nobody does a better job of managing this whole process than Dabo and his staff. AND, maybe more importantly, nobody develops talent better than us. So, while we want the best players and hate to "miss" on any of our top targets, we always do, and we are always just fine. I'm sure we will be this time, too.

Great point. I wonder if anyone would trade any of our starting linemen for Cade Mays today. I wouldn’t, and I wouldn’t “wring hands” over it either way.

I wonder if he’d like a redo? He may as well have went to Tennessee because he’d have the same amount of rings. ??

sign either Horrace Grant or Danny Manning as a free agent. But there was a possibility that if they played their cards right they could possibly go cheap enough on both cotract offers to sign both.
So they tried to split the baby and ended up missing on both.
So I get it.
But playing the safe-assurance game is the opposite of going All-In, which is kinda' Dabo's mantra.

Their OL is big but not that good. They have a terrible offense. Mays plays center I believe.
