may need to give him a little slack....he's playing the cards dealt to him and has not had a chance to influence recruiting to his philosphy. {Hoever, I am mindful of his OU teams defensive rankings.}

Yea...got to coach them a little better than this. The issue is just not FSU, it is every other sub par team did the same this year. This D will cause us to lose more games this year if something is not fixed. I know our talent is off, but not this off. We have some highly recruited kids on this defense. I really dont think Venables was or will be the answer. I call it for what it is worth either way. I think Oklahoma was ready for him to leave. However time will tell.

His rankings worry me as well, but with an average defense and an explosive offense you can win more games and have better changes by making touchdowns field goals instead.

BV had some great Ds in Oklahoma. 5 of 8 seasons in the top 20.
