offensive production this year regarding TE usage. We've already passed last year's TE totals through 5 games.
2021 (13 games): 33-of-56 (59%) for 253 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 37.8 QBR
2022 (5 games): 26-of-31 (84%) for 283 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT, 98.1 QBR

We had both TEs last year. The difference is the OC in my opinion. Best of luck,UVA.
The "passing game coordinator" is also "the tight ends coach"!
I would think that plays a part in this uptick in TE usage!
I am not in the locker room and am not a regular at practice, but one could surmise rather easy the two are not a coincidence.
And, Tony Elliott was the primary play caller on two National Championship teams! People like to call for Jeff Scott; but even coach Scott says time and time again that he gives T. Elliott credit for what he did in terms of the structure of NC winning offenses. Which I admit; they took the Chad Morris "chassis" and built around it. But, everybody within the program gives Coach Elliott credit for coming up with. With input from "everybody on the staff"! Much like it is today! Everybody has input; not so certain how people single Coach Elliott out when it's bad. But, not give him credit for when it's winning National Titles!

Dwayne Allen ring a bell? We've had some pretty decent tight ends come through. Just a couple of down cycles in recruiting as well as injuries hurting in that spot. But 9 and 84 are some studs that will play on Sundays

I loved seeing both Davis and Brinningstool out there at the same time. These guys are matchup problems for any defense.
