Sounds like we may whiff on our top targets again this year.

We were not even pursuing this guy until we missed on the first couple of guys and then we were behind the pack on him because of it.

You have to assume that CJ is relatable, likable, and given his past, has a lot in common with these top RBs. Which makes his ever-growing list of misses even more mind bottling.

Break out the jets!!! Lol

GO TIGERS

CJ will never be forgotten from Clemson fans but do these high school kids really know him as a player? When CJ was busting loose in Tiger town these kids were barely 6 & 7 years old riding their first bike!

It's not like we're desperate to have a RB in this class, and who knows what the next class will have with a HS player from somewhere having a break out season, and they could be a long time Clemson enthusiast/fan that maybe will be an easy pull to Clemson. That would be a better get for Clemson FB than a kid that didn't make it to his top choice, and settled for Clemson. Those type will hit the transfer portal at the first sign of it not being what they think it should be for them as for playing time!!!

Hopefully we'll get a better feel after this weekend but honestly, not thrilled with that last statement saying he's in no hurry and may be a couple months. Either way, doesn't sound like anytime soon.

I guess we'll get a hint if we see other offers go out. Good chance Shipley will only be here 2 more seasons... I think he's that good and could go NFL after 23.

Who's our next big target for RB?

I know this is a "Get off my LAWN" post, but man, I wish that just once, we could recruit us a kid who doesn't look like he has a Chia Pet on top of his head.

:(

Sounds like Spiller should be finding another back to recruit

Choose Clemson… OR

Jun 25, 2022, 3:06 PM

Go 7-5, maybe 8-4 every year

If WE have the season this coming season that I personally believe that we will have, CJ will pull a top RB into next years class, and just pull another 4 star O Lineman into this class that's already become an amazing class!!!!

He literally just said Auburn in the quote. Whats up with the O recruiting? Can't seem to pull any guys in certain spots.

Is it bc we have 5 stars there from 20/21 classes and they know they aint playin till sophomore/junior year?

We did well on WR. Picked up Keith Adams Jr as our only rb. He could be a good one after a year development.

I'm not sure why we haven't offered John Randle Jr out of Kansas. He's a 4* but imo really overlooked. He hasn't done the camp circuit etc. I think many overlooked him because his dad was a heck of a rb for Kansas and his uncle a star at OK ST.

He's visited Texas, but many believe the Texas offer is not commitable. He's got offered by FSU and AZ St and othersq but no leans or cbs. I'm sure we've looked at him.

We did miss on 2 in the top 5 rating but we really want this kid but all the services say 100% auburn. I hope we make a run at Randle if this fella commits to aubie. He's a track star and imo way underrated.

Thank you. I quoted your original to see if the @SocMan2 will work. I've tried everything and it just won't work on my android.

That said, I appreciate the kind words. I just post a lot. Wish you would post more. Your insight and information/opinions are right on point. I know a lot of posters look forward to your perspective.

Top target?

Jun 26, 2022, 8:44 AM

Guessing that means that the first two offered at running back, Young and Haynes are no longer interested in us

This is like beating a dead horse but here goes. May not be a popular opinion but with the recent inroads and success I think we should huddle up with the tigers we've taken from the lone star state
and get some feedback on maybe who are some of the best backs out there that remain largely unknown. Texas is loaded with RB's. They always are. Just go to 247 site and stroll the list of top 100 RBs if ya doubt that last statement. We can still get a high 3 or 4 star back and let him grow into the position much like ETN did. ETN wasn't an immediate homerun if most of you recall. This isn't a knock on CJ but in all fairness he is kinda new to this recruiting aspect. Let's give the guy some assistance and support until he gets his feet under him. With this class becoming ever more special we might get enough interest from one of the top remaining to send CJ and Dabo out to reel him in. If you scroll through the top 50 or so we aren't on any of their radars. Kinda perplexing why this is seemingly every year but we need to pull out all the stops and put a full court press on how we change the perception of what it means to be a RB at Clemson.
