Brownell is the best coach at Clemson in any sport...

He does more with less and continues to show improvement. I hope we can sign him to a long term deal so that it can help with recruiting.
Great win BB team. Keep fighting!

I like Brownell, however not as big an upside as Swinney

Swinney has us playing with best teams in nation, Brownell hopefully will get us there, but we are playing with less highly rated teams! GO TIGERS WIN NIT!

He makes little posts like this on occasion to attempt to keep his pulse up but look at his history.

X's and O's, I agree that it's arguable that he is.

Morris can put guys in great positions, as can Venables. If we're talking recruiting, hiring, motivation, talent analysis (Hobby and Scott in that department as well), Dabo wins hands down IMO. I really like where both teams are headed. We need to keep Brownell for sure...extension or whatever! Taking a preseason #14, in the league, not nation, to within a couple plays of the NCAA, we can't let another potential Barnes go without a fight. I think Dabo would only leave if Bama offered him.

all that other BS is CEO crap that coaches have to do. But the OP said "Coach" which means the ability to get the job done in an instructional setting. In which case, BB is BY FAR the best COACH on campus. Its really not even close.
and your last sentence is the tell-tell. We will have to pony up to keep BB from leaving. Others will pursue him. the same can't be said about the other HCs on campus (Chad and Brent will be hot commodities next year).

BB is way behind Dabo in recruiting not to mention big wins.

He has done the best with least but the "least" s his recruits. I do think he has done a great job. Thank goodness he learned to inbound it deep!

Are you really trying to compare Basketball recruiting to Football recruiting?
One of them has a ton working in its advantage the other has a ton working against it.

Thats odd, at the beginning of the yer everyone was wanting to fire him and now he is the best. Go figure. Have always supported him, win or loose.

The two jobs arent even comparable. Football has al it needs and is either the best or second best job in the conference. Basketball is subpar in facilities and is one of the worst jobs in the conference. I am amazed at how much Brad gets done on a shoestring.

at the two money sports - both of them young, exceptionally talented, and with huge upsides still in front of them.
Good to be a Tiger.

Penley.
Hoover and Harris have an argument too.
Not to mention Dabo
That said - I like Brownell very much and hope he continues building to be in the argument.

Brownell is a good recruiter. Basketball just takes time.

This is Brad's first year with entirely his recruits, and if you'll notice, recruiting is getting better each year. The incoming class this fall will be his best so far, with a 4 star in Grantham and a 3 star in DeVoe (who should be higher since he was just named a Parade All-American). We are also in it for some really highly rated 4-5 stars for 2015, so I think you'll see Brad start to pull some of those guys in.
People like to criticize his recruiting, but in basketball it really does take time to build relationships with area high school coaches and AAU coaches. Given his reputation for developing players, and the fact that our program is on the upswing, recruiting will continue to improve and we'll start getting more of the 4 star and up guys. Being in the ACC helps, and a new arena will help too. Watch, you'll see.
