Tigers Shock Seminoles

Tigers Shock Seminoles
Saturday's four point win in Tallahassee was not the biggest win of the season for the Tigers.  Almost anyone would have to agree that January's win over Duke was a bigger win.  Duke is a better basketball team than Florida State and their name brings more national re

It was a great turn around to beat Fl St there. Coach BB is getting as much as he can from this team. We need another scorer besides KJ. It doesnt have to be the same guy each night but someone has to step up. FSU is a big team and we hung in with not much inside presence. Fine job by the team and by BB

Brownell is doing a great job with the talent

Feb 3, 2014, 10:22 AM

He can build on this and get better players to come here. He just needs better shooters and we can be a great team. Fire him and who would want to coach here? He deserves a few more years.

I agree but someone will have to leave as we are one over if you count scholarships and commitments for next year. I wonder who it will be if he doesnt?

Ding Ding Ding, common sense will pay off at the end. When you have any and every coach that means anything to college BB, some that play us and some that don't, all say that Clemson has a very good x and o guy in Brad Brownell. Even the know it alls that do nothing but talk college basketball. All of them has nothing but good to say about Brad Brownell, and what a great job they all believe that he will do at Clemson. And every single one one of them talk about that Brad has won every where he has been. They also say that Clemson is his first big program he has been. But in the same sentence they say he will also be successful at Clemson if given the time. We should feel lucky that we got him with the state our program was in. And especially the shape that our facilities are in. I've heard it said that our locker room for our guys, are the worst seen anywhere for visitors. Now that is sad. And whats even more sad, is when Brad is expected to out recruit coaches that have 10 times better than anything that we have to offer recruits. He not only suffers through the embarrassment of having to show recruits and their families what he is asking them to come to. But he has to also has to suffer through the awful things our own fans say about him. With Clemson being in the ACC, that puts Clemson in the spot light through affiliation of the power conference of basketball. Other teams that play in the same high level basketball will see the job that Brad is doing in the arm pit of high level BB and will come after him. And if we don't give him a good reason to love and want to stay at Clemson, he will leave us like a flash. That will then be to late to say we're sorry we didn't back him for wanting better for Clemson. Tiger Nation, coaches as good as Brad is, are not and never have been lined up on the road trying to get into Clemson to coach our BB team. We should be making Brad Brownell feel loved and welcome after every game, win or lose. He will be worth all the love, and all the welcome mats we offer him. IMO, he could be the best Clemson BB coach since Cliff Ellis.

The first time vs. FSU, the Tigers looked intimidated by the

Noles' height and length. As I recall, Hall drove into the lane several times in the earlier game only to pull up or get cut off by the longer Seminoles. Between then and now, I think they found some things that they knew could work against FSU. McDaniels' monster night helped, as did injuries for FSU. Blossongame's development has helped too, as has the reliability of Smith, Djitte and Djambo when called upon. Roper still seems a little lost- really hasn't looked quite the same since his concussion in Charleston. Hall's offensive game has been missing of late too, no doubt in part due to FSU's size and the number of minutes he's been playing (according to Brownell, at least). I think the schedule sets up nicely after the Notre Dame game next week. NIT is a real possibility- I don't think we'll finish with a high enough RPI for the Big Dance. Go Tigers- beat the Nerds!

I think winning road games is huge for making the dance... If we win a few more road games this year I think we have a shot.

all our players get gun shy about taking a shot. Too much passing and dribbling with open guys not shooting until it is late in the shot clock. When we do that , there are also more turnovers due to more passes. We need to shoot to score.

Win wasn't too big of a surprise. Leonard Hamilton never ceases to underwhelm anyone. Always has the best athletes in the league, and the tallest. But the man is a trolling idiot. Hard to imagine how in the world he has had so many NBA and D1 jobs over the years.
