Brooks Center parking

Jul 24, 2013, 9:01 AM

My family has been assigned to the Brooks Center lot this year. Anyone else park there? How is the tailgating there? Is it it an area that lends itself to putting up a satellite (I.e. clear line-of-sight without many trees to block the signal). It looks pretty far from the stadium, how long of a walk to the stadium?

Thanks!

Go Tigers!

walk would be too bad, but in my opinion the tailgating is good no matter where you are! Enjoy the season!

It's a pretty long walk, actually. Fortunately most of it is flat(ish). If you want to set up a satellite you'll probably have to take it out of the parking lot and up into the grass, which means you need to get there really early. It also means you'll probably have to fight to find a signal through the trees, but I've seen people do it.

What do you consider a long walk?

Jul 24, 2013, 9:55 AM

It's not any longer than Sikes and I don't consider Sikes to be a long walk.

He!l I'd walk from Anderson to see my Tigers play.

We are in STI. The walk isn't bad. It's pretty level for the most part. Also, if you have dish network the signal can be kind of hard to find. We've also used direct and it seems to be easier to get.

It's outstanding ! Great all around, satellite friendly.***

You can get as much or as little shade as you want. The walk isn't bad, flat all the way to the stadium if you go past Earle Hall.

We love tailgating there

Brooks Center lot has a lot of shade. Kids can go play football on the band practice field too. There are port-a-johns available, but we typically walk over to P&A to use the facilities. About a 10 minute walk to the stadium.

Have parked in STI lot last few years for games.

One of the pluses about the area - you get to hear the band warming up/prepping for the day. So, Tiger Rag gets played a lot which is awesome!

Awesome place to tailgate

Jul 24, 2013, 11:00 AM

You'll get to hear plenty of Tiger Rag as the band gets ready a few hours before the game.

Thanks everyone! See you all in 38 days!***
