Bresee? What about draft or 2023 season?

Hard to pass up upper first round money. He has missed a lot of time last year and this year. What's the chance he comes back next year to show what he can do without distractions. He could potentially find himself as #1 or top 3 minimum. From 10th to top 3 is a big bonus. I wouldn't be surprised if his stock hasnt fallen because of missed time back-back yrs?
I feel like he loves Clemson. I wonder if Bresee, Davis, Ruke, Myles, Simpson, etc., come together and pull a power rangers return. That news would be huge.
Im just concerned that this defense hasn't had all of its starters on the field at the same time. Wish him the best and a great return to college for a healthy blowout yr. Of course passing on millions could be very hard but he is a lock in NFL unless he gets severely injured.
Go Tigers!

Nah.
Power Rangers only had one that was a borderline 1st Rd pick and that was CW42; the others either weren't draft eligible or not highly regarded.
In 2018:
Dexter Lawrence was a Soph Austin Bryant was a Jr but wasn't highly regarded as a prospect. Clelin was a RS Fr
Myles and Bresee are probably a 99% chance of gone.
Simpson could come back but it'd be more like 80% gone since he's been projected as a mid-to-late 1st Rd pick in about every draft guide I've seen.
Davis is a senior with a COVID year in the back pocket. I think he's probably a 90% gone as idk if he can improve his stock any further, even with a crazy breakout year where he's healthy because, like Garrett, he's undersized.
Ruke is a Jr graduate and probably the true wildcard here. I think it's 50/50 unless he just blows up the last half of the season. Would love to see him come back for one more go as one of the dudes on defense.
Of course, anything could happen but just a different situation compared to the Power Rangers.

You mean 2017 season. 2018 season is when they all got drafted. Ferrell was probably also a first round choice in 2017. And I think he was a redshirt sophomore?
We will see by end of season though. Bresee is probably first round material and Simpson. The rest are borderline.

I've learned to double the number of years ago I think something happened to better my odds of being correct. Time flies when you're having fun?

This is his third year, but we saw very little of him last year...thus he is a RS sophomore.

When a player is projected as a high first rounder, it makes sense to go pro.
Taj Boyd’s career would have been different if he left after his Junior year. Glad he came back, but first rounders are rarely cut, and can grow into the league.

I don't think Tajh was ever actually regarded as a 1st round

pick. That was coming from the media, but not the NFL. Once he got into the draft process we started hearing things like the Steelers scout saying he was "undraftable."
He had a good SR season and never got seriously injured so there's no reason his stock would have fallen from his JR year to SR year. I think that was just a case of the CFB media assuming Tajh was a high draft pick, but NFL front offices clearly never thought that way about him.

As a projected top 10 pick and having already suffered a torn ACL taking him out for a year, he should go. I wish he would stay but he needs to do what’s best for himself and family financially. Years ago I thought players should always stay the course through the end, then saw Lattimore rip his knees twice in 2014 and 2016. He went from a 1st round pick to a 4th, and had to retire shortly after.

Right now all we have is outside prognosticators giving

their draft ratings - not actual NFL evaluations. I don't doubt that Bresee will eventually be taken in the first round at some point but I also don't stake much credibility in the likes of these commercially driven "draft boards" from Mel Kiper and friends.
I think a big question right now is: Has Bresee shown enough against top competition to be a first round pick having very limited playing time for the last 2 years?
In the past two years Bresee's only played in 7 of 18 games and his film against top competition is rather thin - 2021 UGA game being the first any scout will watch. Let's face it - watching Bresee fling lineman from Furman, SC State, and a bad GA Tech team doesn't really tell NFL scouts a whole lot. Watching him go up against other future NFL talent does.
If Bresee can get healthy and play the rest of the year and if Clemson makes it to the playoffs then Bresee will probably have the resume to go first round and leave. If Bresee continues to miss time on the field with health issues I would not be surprised if some in the NFL want to see a little more out of him and he returns next year.

Agree with you re: Bresee.
As for XT (not discussed in your post, but elsewhere in the thread):
He should consider taking Med RS this year, then come back in 2023 as a 6th year "Covid" senior.
It's hard to imagine him getting enough PT (considering how well KJ has been doing at DE this year) to crack the upper half of the draft.
For 2023, he'd be Clemson's MAN at DE ... but he'd have to have a healthy season for his NFL career to have a chance.

I have wondered the same about Bresee and XT. I like them both but don't see how they have shown enough to convince a scout they are top picks due to how many games each has missed, and the fact they have not played in many of the "big games". For both, I think it depends on December and January. If they make a statement against top tier teams in the playoff run, I think they go. If not, I think they both come back. For Bresee, the unknown for either option is what he thinks honors Ella more...coming back and having the college career year he was expected or going pro. No one but them knows what they may have discussed. I think that will impact his decision above all else.

Still projecting first round. Don’t think there’s much chance of him staying

And I think Dabo would actually encourage him to go. Same argument as always but first round pick guaranteed pay day vs coming back and then getting injured. Usually the smart decision esp for a first rounder is to go

It makes a big difference where you're drafted.
For 2022 NFL Draft:
Picks 1 thru 4 - $22.3 to $25.3 million bonus
Picks 5 thru 10 - $12.1 to $19.9 million bonus
Picks 11 thru 20 -$7.4 to $11 million bonus
Picks 21 thru 32 - $5.5 to $7.3 million bonus
