Bowl games in August.

I should have copywrited a post I put on this board a few months ago. ESPN clearly is guilty of plagiarism.

Didn't get to see your post but based on the article it's an idea that'd I'd be for tweaking.

I love the thought of an opening bowl season schedule to keep things interesting and it's an interesting format they mentioned though I'd hope that they do something on a rotational basis so we're not locked into the same conference vs conference year in and out (could've been mentioned but I scanned that mammoth of an article).

Also, I'm not big on the "opt out of the draft" bit after the spring game. The number juggling game the coaches have to keep up with portal exits now is enough, much less if a player decides to come back after the scholarship has been reassigned and that's a potential issue (yeah they can transfer of course but I'd be more in favor of letting kids opt out of the draft until spring ball starts).

I also would be against cutting an OOC game if we were able to invite FCS teams for a spring scrimmage so we could have the CFB season wrapped up by no later than mid-January.

Personally, I wish they would structure it to end on January 1st before school starts back.

My post didn't include all the other stuff. I just talked about having the bowl games in August, essentially being the first game of the season, and teams that did not get invited to a bowl could schedule a game against another team that did not get an invitation.

I'm not creative enough to think of all those other things.

Biggest issue is that the warm bowl locations aren’t ideal travel

Destinations over Labor Day weekend. Can you imagine the Fiesta Bowl or Las Vegas bowls? Much less the Florida bowls. It’s hot enough in Death Valley for a Saturday, but can’t imagine paying for a bowl game road trip to go to that kind of heat.
