Bluetooth Speaker Net

It’s time to replace my BOSE Soundlink that’s about 7 yrs old.
Generally used while bbqing, garage, and general simple around the house use.
Unless the jounge feels super strongly about it, I don’t think I want a smart portable speaker.
Maybe linking with other speakers could be cool?
Any suggestions?

JBL Boombox is what I want, I have 2 JBL Charge 4s

and they will all link together when you get that technology working right. The Charge 4 sounds really good by itself though and they work great.

Sonos

recently came out with a smaller portable speaker. If you're working on a dope home system, it'd be a good place to start.
I don't have this new speaker, but I will be replacing my current speaker with it when it dies.
Sonos products are bad ### - I have 4 speakers and am adding one a year. The sub is next on my list.
My current speaker, like most have mentioned, is the JBL Charge (I think I have an older 3). It is perfect and definitely gets the job done.
I've also been with some frands that have the UE Boom - good speaker as well.

Our JBL Charges have been in the pool, in the ocean,

covered in sand, and keeps on ticking.
I am 100% sure the Sonos speakers are better sounding, but if you can get the Charge for less than $100, it is a GREAT portability speaker.
I want Sonos for the house, but I have other priorities

those JBLs are insane. I've had mine for maybe 6 years? before I got married for sure. same as you...dunked in pool, sand, mud, left it in the truck a few times in ridiculous heat....still kicking.
I think mine has a solid 5 years left which I'm cool with, especially since I use it much less around the house now that we have sonos.

crazy. My oldest is probably 3-4 years old. We bought a second one to pair up and they really blast when both are going, but that software is a little quirky.
I want the Boombox or the big block one so I can blast people out of the pool.

I wanted a small but quality bluetooth speaker I could easily pack and use with my laptop or my phone.
took a flyer on this Anker Soundcore Mini, it was cheap, about $25. Tiny little thing, about the size of a half-can of beer. Bluetooth, aux jack, will play tunes off a micro-SD card, even has a FM radio. Loud little bugger, quality bass tones.
I take this thing out in the yard with me all the time, either put a few albums on the SD card to play, or just put it on WCCP and listen to sports. Or link to the phone. Not really for use at a neighborhood pool party, but great for grilling, or fishing, or doing yardwork. Small enough to fit in your pocket to carry around with you.

Thing has been beaten toshit, dropped by me, kids, used on beach, left in rain, got stolen once by a hotel housekeeper, returned after it looked like they threw it down on the concrete in the parking lot, thing just keeps ticking.
Battery lasts about 8 hours on 50% volume.
Not sure about the durability of the Sonos portable ones, but their main selling point is using them at home with Wifi instead of bluetooth. It's annoying when the music stops for a phone call etc on bluetooth. My workaround with a bluetooth speaker is to use my work cell to play music since no one ever calls it.
