Blame the coaches all you want....

but you can't coach Desire, and what I saw last night, while standing in Death Valley, was a team on the other side that wanted it more. If our team had the same kind of desire to win that game as the coots did, then the dumpster behind the west endzone would be full of broken helmets this morning.
The shamecocks may have looked foolish, acting like thugs, last night, but you could tell they cared more. Mybe it has to do with the amount of in-state recruiting at UsuC as opposed to Clemson.
Ultimately our players don't hate the coots as much as our fans do, therefore their desire to win wasn't there, and it showed.

He coaches with hate, intimidation, and spite. Dabo's a class act who preaches good values. I hate seeing us lose like that, but I'm still glad we're not them
But in no way am I disagreeing with what you're saying......spot on

certainly do not want a scum bag like spurrier as our coach, but very few nice guys have been highly successful head coaches. Most great CEOs are jerks, as are most great coaches. You need to decide what you want, a choir boy for head coach or a championship football team, because you very rarely get both. You think Ford, Bear Bryant, and Frank Howard were choir boys, nice guys? They were hard nosed, in your face task masters and demanded toughness and perfection as well as 100 percent effort out of their players on every play.
YOU and people like you are our number one problem because you fail to hold Barker and Dabo accountable. You are a wuss and our fan base is full of wusses just like you.

Brian Kelly...######## all.
To be fair, Pete Carroll was a player's coach, and Les Miles probably is, too.

players coach is demanding, fair, and makes you not only a better player, but better person. A lot of guys hated Ford, but respected him and love him like a father today.
I can tell you first hand that Bill Wilhelm was a son of a biotch and many players hated him, but as adults they loved him dearly and understood his tough love.
Ibrahim makes Spurrier look like a nice guy, he was the biggest jerk to ever coach at Clemson and players truly hated him, then and still today, but he recruited and coached and won 2 national championships.

I'm sorry, their is nothing classy about Dabo nor Spurrier. Off a win, Dabo is a cheerleader, Spurrier is a narcissist. Any coach that gives another the time of day and rants in the media like both Spurrier AND Dabo has done--is anything but class. Saban=class. K State's coach=class. Neither SCAR nor we have classy coaches. There's nothing wrong with that--I like the fire they bring to the rivalry with their mutual hatred and jabs. BUT to say one coaches with intimidation vs. good values...PLEASE!

You can coach desire. Motivation is a daily process. Emotion is the sideline and press conference drama that quickly subsides as soon things get tough. Dabo is in over his head with no head coaching experience except by the seat of his pants with us on an emotional roller coaster. Great guy. Great Recruiter. Mediocre coach in a very weak conference.

Dabo is no better at recruiting than TB. I ran the numbers

and TB's last 3 classes were exactly the same average rank as Dabo's last 3 classes. Right at 14.5

you are entitled to your opinion on Dabo, however that statement was an irrelevant stat, because Dabo was Bowdens recuiting coordinator.
For an accurate comparison you would have to go back to before Dabo was on staff. Even then it wouldn't be accurate because so many other factors come into play.

teams are physical and tough, others soft. That starts at the top. You think we'd go 20 years without a tough physical OL and killer attitude if Danny Ford were head coach? Nick Saban?
Look at Spurrier. He recognizes everyone uses his style offense now. Teams have adjusted. So he wins with old fashioned man on man big boy 80s football like Bama. When Mike Leach was OC at Kentucky they had the best offense in the SEC, which is why Stoops hired him as his 1st OC when he left Floria to be HC at OK. But Stoops also knows that Kentucky never won the SEC b/c in big boy football defense wins championships.
